I don't know about that. Her Don Quixote program was pretty spectacular, esp when her jumps hit all the right high points of the music at the end. That is pretty difficult to do. My one complaint with the program is they pack too many moves into the step sequences in the beginning, so many of them look unfinished. I hope they change that. Anyway, I don't think repeating the program is necessarily a bad move. It just depends on whether she can deliver an even better version, which I think she can.

I disagree. Don Quixote is a great program to showcase her strengths.
Also, it has never really been skated to its potential, and there is tons of room to improve in the PCs department, artistry, extension, ballet positions.
Sounds like a good choice to me, since she has a lot of work to do to catch up with Evgenia, and having a brand new program would probably take some valuable time.

Most people don't follow juniors closely even as skating fans, millions of people could potentially see her Don Quixote for the first time during the Olympics! I think this is a smart choice for her.

She skated the junior version of DQ most of the time. It was as if she had to rush to squeeze everything into the time allotted. With the senior version she has a chance to deliver a true masterpiece at the right time...But, of course, I was waiting for a new program from Alina.

Sorry, @[email protected] , but this is typical Russian.. I'm shocked when I read such Russian comments like these what were reacted by Adelina. Those are very malicious, insulting!, always assume the worst... and totally illogic.

I'm disappointed with Alina 's music selections, but most of all, I hope she transforms into an artist.Those rushed movements and That tutu costume only showed how much of an artist she wasn't. But because she has the jumps, I'll bet she'll get very high PCS.

I am sure they will change it. She grows for one thing and as a JWC she can command much more respect and attention now to not wear the clothes of her "elder sister". One thing though is luck. The Russians in general are superstitious. If she believes that this dress brings her luck she herself might want to keep it.

To be honest, while I find Zagitova's jumps and such impressive, I just don't think that her PCS-related assets are even close to the level required for a podium. Certainly it's possible that I'm wrong, but I have great difficulty enjoying her programs due to this.
For the olympics, I see just about no way for Medvedeva to fail to win. She's far too consistent, and the biggest potential challengers aren't old enough yet or have become too old. I don't see Zagitova as someone who could possibly challenge her, either. As mentioned earlier, she'd have to improve immensely when it comes to the PCS-related things, especially her presentation is quite lackluster in my view. Now, I'm not saying that she'll never get to that level, but it will not be in 2018 unless Medvedeva really melts down completely.
In my opinion, we're going to be in a waiting period for some years now, Medvedeva will easily claim the olympic gold medal, and a much more interesting competition will be able to be had in 2022 if certain skaters develop as expected.

Just re-watched Alina's LP at JGPF & Worlds, still can't believe she won over Nastya and Marin. Okay Nastya made a mistake in the short so I am okay with Alina's overall win (just about) but not with Marin who was exquisite. Both Nastya & Marin are light years ahead of Alina PCS wise (in fact ahead of good many senior ladies too). Alina is nice but her scores are just

But Alina already beats Evgenia in terms of TES in her free skate.
And in case of Junior Worlds... Her BV in FS was 4 points higher than Marin's, all her jumps were in 2nd half and in the end Alina's TES was 7 points higher than Marin's. She won fair and square.
