Sad news, I wish Gracie recover her former competitive self. I watch her fire-bird FS from time to time. Rather interesting program.
I watched her at 2017 US nationals. It seemed she lost her love to figure skating, hope I was wrong.
 
Just another day at the office for tarakanova; she just won. I knew she would, so consistent are Eteri's students. But I have issue with her tech score being so high because some of those jumps were not pretty.

I'm sorry......are Eteri's students taught jumps first and only then learn posture, line, ease, flow...

Her jumps were very high, difficult entry and exit as usual for Eteri's students. Still 2 points lower then Trusova at her debut.

She's clearly the least talented among Eteri's girls.
Even Panenkova, who is rather "athlete" than an "artist", is much more sophisticated and polished than Tarakanova.

Regarding polished... Nastia Gubanova... :sad21::slink:

She changed coaches 3 months ago... If anybody expects Eteri to make wonders in 3 months well it doesn't work like this

I heard Tarakanova had consistency issue. But she put together 2 clean programs today. Very impressive.

To start, she moved to ET 3 months ago. In the past she's proved to be very inconsistent. Secondly, a lot of her students have nice postures (who actually trained under her for a long time). It's not equally easy for every one to get one, you know.

And yes, they learn how to jump first. They don't have time for both skating and jumping. Jumps make you win in junior competitions. Medals keep you motivated and parents interested.
Then, when you get at some decent level, you have more time and freedom. It's the time when you start working on that PCS score.
Just don't blame the coaches, blame the system.

Yeah, but Nastya has both of it. Look at her speed and at her skating skills. Her skating is so smooth. If she has some problems - it's definitely not with her components. She just was in a hurry. That's why some of her elements looked a little sloppy. Maybe it's because of unpolished program or she was nervous. But without this hurry this program is definitely a masterpiece. So powerful, so fast. Just wow.

Her SS are beautiful. She's so good at such age components wise. It upsets me when people say she's overscored in PCS. I adore both SP and FS.

Can't wait to see her again [emoji92]

She is rushing through her programs, but it's ok for 13 yo skater. And she was obviously worried about making a proper debut. But overall it was a very emotional and technically difficult performance.

And I'd like to compliment Nastya G. as well. Despite the mistakes, she still showed us enough skill to become fourth. That is no mean feat, and only the depth in Russian figure skating makes it the disappointment it now is.

it's not like the first and the second. all skaters learn how to jump as well as they are visiting choreography classes. no one skips choreogrpahy. but some girls are naturally artistic, and some are not. just look at shcherbakova at 10, she's already such a star

the same was with baby gubanova. of course everyone improves with time, even if you are not a natural performer you can make your pcss decent. but it's not the system fault that nastya are not as good as the other girls at her age

Also, if she still gets the second GP, being 4th gives her some chances to go to GPF still, if she wins her second GP for example.

They screwed her out of JWC last year. They should give her another shot :yes:

She's only 14....as long as they don't freeze her funding she can still work her way into the senior rankings. Some skaters don't even hit there full stride until they are seniors. Food for thought for all of the alarmists.

Yeah, I hope they will let her keep the spot. She was such a promising skater last year, and I hope she gets another chance to prove herself.
