Zhenya was very thin as well, but she had all the time in the world and coaches' patience to grow in Yulia's shadow. The competition within the group and Russian juniors was far lesser than now and it let her slowly blossom into the skater we're seeing now.
I'm not blaming anyone, just saying that objectively girls have to work faster and harder than before to survive in present circumstances.

On the other hand, the coaches must have learned a lot from training Yulia and Evgenia. All the knowledge from training them is already there, and will be of benefit to coaching the junior ladies now.

They proved that certain things can be done, and instead of having to spend time seeing if they can be done and how, they are all aware it's possible. So now they're looking for new heights.

Konstantinova was replaced by Panenkova at JGP Poland. Seems like RusFed started to doubt about Konstantinova too. But why before not after? It can hurt her. She is unstuble, and now, knowing such news, she could bomb her stage at all. So now Panenkova listed in Poland and Italy. If Konstantinova predictably bombs her stage, then instead of Panenkova in Italy will be Kostornaya (if she'll be clean in Poland). What about Samodurova if she will win or will take a second place with higher scores than Gulyakova, then we will see her in Italy with Kostornaya. Now all things are clear.

Just look at her lovely hands! Such a mite, but creates whole magic in these tiny red gloves.
Tarasova once said women's hands in skating are everything, they're expressing music and personality and creating whole another dimension and way of skating than mens discipline. Hard to disagree, watching this small bean tangoing like that. :yes:

I wouldn't read too much into the switch beyond a confirmation that they put Panenkova into JGP6 instead of 7 (which makes sense from the perspective of maxing her JGPF chances as there are fewer non-Russian podium contenders there). The fact that they haven't taken Panenkova's name out of JGP7, where it's impossible to have her in 3 JGP's, just means they don't want to make any pre-conclusions about which of Kostornaya vs. Konstantinova vs. Samodurova would get the spot, until the girls have skated.
Previously, Konstantinova's name in JGP6 was a placeholder just as Gubanova's was in JGP5. They didn't want to make bets on which of the new girls would get a 2nd JGP until they have actually skated. The skaters involved probably all know that. Hope it will spur the 3 of them to skate lights out at the next JGP's!

I still think RusFed won't let a girl with the third place to compete. Moreover, I suppose the replacement is related to logistical considerations: two Eteri's girls on the same event.

No, I just want to get others' opinions of her and understand why they're so intrigued by her.
And I thought it was better for me to ask people on this forum if she's good at SS, instead of me just typing "she's horrible at skating skills!" when I don't know what I'm talking about.

I think Alina' skating skills are good, her step sequences are very demanding, it's maybe artistic side of skating that's she lacking a bit, especially in comparison to skaters like Marin, who excels in this area. Excerpt from yesterday's Phil Hersh article:

Last season, she did a free skate of ethereal beauty in finishing second at the world juniors to Russia's Alina Zagitova, who is more advanced technically and less refined artistically.

No doubt she'll get there with time though, having great coaching support in Eteri, who as we know is former dancer and overall 'madam elegance'. :agree:

There are technical goods which there is no need to explain. Just look at her recent protocols with combined BV of 101. How many senior ladies in FS history had higher BV? The answer is easy - no one. Ever. Her routine is the most difficult the world has ever seen.

But even this is not the point. For me DQ is the second mostly watched program after SL. I just like - like her energy, her smile, her hitting the notes.

I was thinking about Olympic Team event, because Russian ladies - are the only hope there, and chances to win the gold medals are very low for Russia. This is the sad part - when you will lose because of the others.

For example: Evgenia will skate SP, Alina will skate FS.

i don't see a lot of alina's sufferings in comparasion to marin.

Was about to give a thumbs up until I saw Gubanova and that raised a question: so many people say she's a lovely artist and that Alina's not, but am I the only one that sees it the reverse way? Either way, they are both talented young ladies with a great future!

Nastya is a big talent. Her skating skills are incredible. She's flying on the ice like Kostner or Sotnikova. Her arm movements are so soft, so nice and right. She's feeling the music, not pretending. When I saw her for the first time I thought, "Nothing special, just difficult and creepy jumps, that's all". But after the Junior Russian Nationals 2016, where she participated, something has changed inside me. And I fell in love with this beautiful girl. She is something.

Those I've seen!! She's amazing. In those videos she seems so tall, but I realized how tiny she is in the dancing video.

unlike marin she can skate to tango and be sassy as well. she's not just a sweet lyrical skater

Fully committed to the movements.. I hope she recovers well from her injury because it would be a shame for her to miss junior worlds! But I also want to see Gubanova go along with Trusova and Tarakanova. Too many wonderful girls.:hopelessness: If only junior worlds was in Taipei again or somewhere in Asia agin this year because I would have definitely tried to go. Is the trio of Trusova, Tarakanova, and Anna the wonder babies of Eteri or are there even more hyped ones who are younger than them?
