Thanks! I think that Tarakanova has this one, unless samodurova has fixed her iffy jumps. (Don't recognize the South Korean skaters, do they pose a threat?) I hope that samodurova can prove herself because last year she only had one jgp assignment. Mako is great but I think she has a small underrotation problem that could keep her back enough for Tarakanova to win.

The chances of her leaving SPB and her boyfriend to go train with a still unproven coach in Moscow are extremely slim. And she would still have to deal with puberty no matter where she trains. Sima's situation is different - she is older (past the worst of puberty), not in the national team and she has nothing to lose at this point. I very much hope Plushenko can help her and make her competitive again but I just can't with all these silly kneejerk responses that everyone should just change their coach to Plushy or Tutberidze and it will solve all their problems. Plushy has not proven himself yet (I believe in him in the longterm, but he is literally just getting started), there is no more room at the inn at Eteri's school. Sure, maybe Alisa will want to change coaches sometime down the road. If/when she's ready, then she will. But "just change coaches!" doesn't magically fix everything. See: Yulia, Elena, Sima with the last 2 coaching changes, etc.

I remember Tat's comment on Alisa cca 2 years ago. She said Alisa will have problem with the weight..or she will be overweight after the puberty...Well, she is in good shape now..

If Samodurova will perform the same as at the last competition, she will be a real force in Croatia JGP even without big jumps.

the right decision was to send trusova, tarakanova, kostornaya and panenkova to events with rika and eunsoo. they all can defeat them and clear the way to the final for other russian girls.
but rusfed don't follow the grand scheme, they don't understand that it's a war for supremacy, and you should atack the enemy with your best forces.
honestly, i want to see rika and eunsoo in the final, it's not gonna be so interesting to have russian nationals all over again.
sasha should defeat some international names in the final on her way to glory

Beautiful skating as always! I guess it's even good for her that nobody sees her as a favorite. She won't feel the pressure, and can easy and calm preparing for the GP stages.

I've heard he said very rude things about Eteri and Zhenya after moving to Plushy. Also, he has no talent, and can't skate clean programs. At the last competition he won against 13-14 yo boys. What an achievement.

I wish Plushy will leave him. This character doesn't deserve to be coached by him.

I agree, this does not adorn him. As well as those adults who are beside him. Usually children say such things not from a great mind or sincere conviction - but just repeating after adults.

Personally i still believe in Polina Tsurskaya.

Eteri is in good positions right now. She has three super-talented girls. Two of them are real Olympic contenders. The third, Polina, I'm sure too, but it will depend on her consistency. 3Lz-3T-2T, 3Lz-3T, 3F+2T - it's a very solid base. I guess, only Nastya Gubanova (maybe also Tarakanova) had the same layout. But the real war will start at Russian Nationals. And to raise the tension - not only between girls but also between coaches. The most powerful mistress in the Russian skating - Elena Buyanova-Vodorezova against most talented Russian coach - Eteri Tutberidze. So I expect big drama and I am very worried about this. Elena and Maria with bad or average skating can get crazy PCS and leave behind clean Polina.

Polina's fight for her place will start at GP's. But for now I really don't want her to think about it and be nervous. I hope that she can skate clean with beautiful programs and stay happy and healthy.

You seem to be very negative, spreading everywhere doom and gloom. In the Russian pairs thread you forecasted the terrible state of Russian junior pairs (5 medals out of six possible at two JGP pairs events), then you decided about PoluyanovaSopot that they shouldn’t have had the JGP event because they don’t even have a triple jump (they proved you wrong, they have triple jump that they landed and ended up second, which clearly indicates that they were good enough to compete at the event). Now you are spreading gossip about another skater, smearing his reputation based on something you have apparently heard. Judging someone’s character without even knowing him personally is not right. Shame on you! Saying that he does not have a talent is rubbish if he can land quads. Not everyone is able to learn quads. Saying that he doesn’t deserve to be coached by Pluschenko- really? Your posts say something about your character, and it definitely is not nice.

And btw, people here say that it was not rusfed's decision to leave Stasya in juniors, it's Chebotareva's idea. So better answer to this.

The comments I’ve seen from him on his ask were mostly about his back problems being so bad when training with Eteri that he thought of retiring. I understand that a 18 year old who might be forced to retire due to injury could be so frustrated to forget about good manners. And clearly one shouldn't demand someone to skate clean programs when skating injured and that with just freshly learned elements. In addition I don’t think any comments on Eteri can be worse than her comments on Julia, Adian and Sergei in her last interview.

Moving to Sima I’m not sure what to think about her changing coaches again. But trying to see it from a positive side: it indicates she is still willing to fight to comeback. With the financial issues I start thinking her parents might simple have given this as an excuse when leaving Eteri as they didn’t want to risk and open conflict with her.

I dont think so, Eteri isnt such a power that people would do everything to avoid her wrath.

There could be a series of reasons - for example, now Sima is older and can live by herself (i think, before her mother moved to Moscow with her).
