She was definitely underscored!

These GOEs are low, but her Lutz-toe combo was the best here, and she doesn't have edge issues unlike the canadian.

But i'll take these results: they both have to skate clean in the free to lock the silver and the bronze.

It would be strange if she keeps the old dress for the entire season, but is is also difficult for me to understand that they haven't got her new dress ready at this moment. I hope she wears a bun, and gets a more ballerina-looking dress, just to go for the entire concept of Swan Lake, or a classic ballet program. With her pony tail flowing it is not helping.

I don't think she and her team want to use the concept of Swan lake, ballerina etc... they just use the waltz.

That sounds extremely difficult It's a jump variation which is one of the GOE bullets. So +1 GOE. No change in BV.

No extra BV but it does qualify as a varied position in the air which could garner a positive GOE mark if the judge thinks it enhances the jump. There is a myth that simply putting your hand over your head gets you extra points but there is not required positive GOE for it. It’s at the judges discretion how to award GOE as per the ISU guidelines but the bullets are a nice “suggestion” by the ISU.

Jump Elements

1) unexpected / creative / difficult entry
2) clear recognizable (creative, interesting, original for jump preceded by steps/movements of the Short Program) steps/free skating movements immediately preceding element
3) varied position in the air / delay in rotation
4) good height and distance
5) good extension on landing / creative exit
6) good flow from entry to exit including jump combinations / sequences
7) effortless throughout
8) element matched to the musical structure

I understand why Maria added all the tanos but I can't get over how ugly her arm looks. I'm okay with Medvedeva, Zagitova and most of others when they do it but her arm is so angular and that hand sticking up... I just hate it. Apart from that though, she's skated well so good for her! She's getting more and more elegant!

Maria's question is still on the table. Considering her growth, her jumps are superb: very big height and clean landing on them. Also, Buyanova's skating skills are very nice. But she lack of stamina, sometimes URs on her combos and axels, and at least two of her spins won't get big GOE.

By the way, the tech panel and judges were really ridiculous, at clean and gorgeous 3Lz+3T she got < on 3Lz and -0.10 GOE. Also, she got 3F<+1Lo+3S but there was underrotated 3S, flip maybe but really barely. It should be 3F+1Lo+3S<.

Really pathetic event. Looking forward for the Russian Cup with amazing ladies' field, I'm sure that would be much better than this.

My thoughts exactly! The skating protocols just show all the ladies except for Osmond being hammered with underrotations. We understand you want your skater to win, but please be fair.
