My predictions come true, unless something stupid happen.the only thing i don't like about this comment is the fact that your predictions tend to rarely become true![]()

Well, Sotskova will probably be 5th or 6th anyways? 4th at most? We know all these girls and they are the best of the best and Sotskova currently is not among the top 3. I guess some will make mistakes but probably not all five. Not being able to participate is worse in this case, because even the last skater is among the top 10 for sure.
But you have a good point there with a slight alteration: If Maria scores significantly low at GPF and the Nats (not making it to the top 4 for example) then they might say she shouldn't go because failure in two competitions shows her weakness not her being unlucky on a certain day etc.
Otherwise I don't see Polina getting the spot. To me it's more about Maria losing it than Polina getting it because Maria had done a lot this season to prove herself.
There must be some % for Stasya Konstantinova. She's getting nice domestic scores, so she's extra emergency backup. As of now:
Maria 45%
Elena 30%
Polina 25%

She's winning international tourneys and medalling in JGP at 17 - I wish all those tiny lil' phenoms to get THAT far.Just drop it, she will never make it far....
https://twitter.com/PhDSports1/status/937279252143198208According to insiders, "Soviet Sport" informs that Russian sportsmen will probably participate in the 2018 Olympics only as neutral athletes.
A bit of an update on the Russian Olympic participation:

in fact Sotskova FS form France GP is not clean, yeah she does not get any UR or whatsoever in protocols, but she URed her 3S and solo 3Lz (both are clear in slow-mo) but the panel is overlooking them just like how panel overlook Miyahara UR in America. With a strict TP it can hurt everyone even Zagitova, sometimes her jumps is not really all the way around. Kaetlyn rarely UR but she tend to pop or fall in FS, Caro the same, Miyahara and Sotskova is the UR girl among others in GPFWell with a fair judging which means:
1) URs counted
2) mistakes and falls affects components too
3) fair use of GOEs
A clean performance from Sotskova (like her FS in France) could place 4th or even 3rd there, considering Miyahara is prone to URs and if you start to count them her TES drops quickly while Kaetlyn and Kostner are always making mistakes (Caro a little more consistent this season though), and even Higuchi has some UR jump here and there.
But they won't because japanese girls can succeed only with a lenient panel so she has to hope that all her competitors bombs which is not 100% impossible, but still unlikely.
Nationals -> CSKA has definitely an advantage so expect both Maria and Elena receiving the extra help, unless they bomb. Also i wouldn't be surprised to see a junior grabbing that bronze medal (which means nothing because the battle for the third spot will still between these three girls)
As of now:
Maria 45%
Elena 30%
Polina 25%
If Maria bombs GPF like a splatfest that could change everything.
I thought they said that Russians won't participate as neutral athletes.A thought - if that is the case, how do the athletes qualify? Keep the quota Russia had initially? Who makes the selection?
When is the final decision made about the participation at the Olympics?
Just drop it, she will never make it far....

Basing it on the scores this season, haven't Radionova and Tsurskaya been scoring higher than Sotskova?
It's not a secret, that Sotskova is in GPF while Tsurskaya is not.
I think it would be wonderful to see Elena, Maria, and Polina be the Europeans team depending on the results of nationals, to corroborate that third spot decision.
Would you really deprive 15yo hard-working phenomenal girl of her first chance in life to win European title for some third int'l spot sparring?I think it would be wonderful to see Elena, Maria, and Polina be the Europeans team depending on the results of nationals, to corroborate that third spot decision.
