But when you earn your spot fair and square, one non-Russian fan not being able to pick her out of a lineup doesn't mean that she shouldn't get the chance to compete... if she's earned it, and she has, I really don't see why Fedichkina is picked over her, when Fedichkina hasn't performed well this year. Oh wait, people have heard of Fedichkina and she has a reputable coach...

Fedichkina already gets to compete at junior nationals but Sonya doesn't because she competed at MC for Russian Cup this year and didn't have a JGP spot like Fedichkina did. It's not Sonya's fault that Fedichkina blew her chance to get a second spot and into the final. It would be different if Fedichkina had EARNED it, but she didn't. Disgusted.

And Sonya is the diminutive for Sofia

How is Rukavicin more reputable than Goncharenko? The Fed often reshuffles last 1-2 places.

Honestly even if it is URd, if she lands it, thats a lot of extra BV, since she can replace a double with it.

Unfortunately, that is a big if at this point in time. Hopefully she will start seeing more success with her quad in international tournaments soon.

I think they are going to penalise crappy quads much more harshly from next season, planning another habitually underrotated and rarely landed quad is hardly a good idea, unless she plans to include it into programs already this season.

None. I too believe that in the ladies competition a splatfest is not encouraged, that and more ease in podium manipulation by powerful fed, hence the +/-5 GOE system

I wonder what the results would be if Dasha became one of Plushy’s Angels I think her style could really evolve with his guidance into a direction that would benefit her. It’s not like Eteri is doing bad job, she isn’t, but I think Dasha will likley struggle to break out of that group. The question of whether Plushy wants to be a full time competitive coach or not though at this point also needs to be addressed because I’m uncertain.. I do get the feeling he wants to when considering the progress and commitment he’s shown to Sima.

I’ve really grown a soft spot for Dasha and think her and Sima would be cool teammates.

She can be senior next season, and i hope they will make some good programs for her so she can really shine. Next year can really be a breakthrough for her, but after that even more juniors will join seniors, so it will be very tough anyway... But the most important point is that all those girls join Eteri not to leave after year or two, but because this is a highest possible level for them... and i think even being an underdog in this group is much better than being the best one in other group...

Dasha needs a rebranding really. She got the programs she has because probably this is what she expresses to her team right now
I really hope Dasha will focus primarily on skating, even though she's a teenager and she seems very interesting in discovering new aspects of the life.

Why quad? Quads. There are at least two of them now. It wouldn't surprise me if we will see both of them and 3A to boot in her programs soon )) How much TES she would grab is somehow scary to imagine :shocked:
