Curious, it seems to me the common denominator between I/K and D/S is Morozov. Probably the nomadic lifestyle began to take a toll on the poor guy. But all this could just be rumours like I/K having a tryout recently, haha. D/S should be with Morozov, Amodio and W/P in some camp in the hills of France, Vaujany, I believe. Also as he's really only borderline better than Bagin, what future does he have with either Mrs. M or Lena? I've come to realize if a team doesn't have a strong male lead, its pretty much pointless, IMHO.

Gone are the days of Maurizio Margaglio, Ruslan Goncharov, Andrei Bukin, and Roman Kostomorov. Well, to be fair to the later two, Bukin was physically strong partner who could match Bestemianova's speed and support her as she was moving in all sorts of ways while Kostomorov knew how to dance and was able to do those IJS elements.

She can't be a coach or even a junior team and have a new partner! Impossible!

None of this is official, not even those so-called articles citing a source close to the situation. :laugh2: This off-season can't come to an end soon enough. Let the woman enjoy her life. If something is in the works either way we'll find out sooner or preferably much later. Besides in which universe could she be working with a new pair on her own  EI needs to give a clinic on distraction strategies to the CIA. Here it is that S/B, B/S and S/K are busy putting together what could be top ten worthy dances at the next OG and people are talking about EI training two recently retired singles skaters who want to TRY ice dancing. Russian ice dancing has really sunk to a new low, if this is what makes news.

Say no to Bagin, Shibnev and that guy Yanovskaya was skating with last year should have been the rule by now.
I honestly think Betina's ex-partner is a better skater than all of them combined.

I think the world would end if it were true I/K had a try out and got together. I think it would mean Donald Trump would reveal that he is gay and his hair a living chia pet; Morozov would become celibate and a monk, Johnny Weir would be come spokesperson for Ford 150 pick up trucks and the Kardashians would never appear in the Enquirer magazine while botox and plastic surgery would be banned from Hollywood.

Wow all that is going to happen? as I have good authority that a tryout happened, but not work out

Oh sorry, I missing the bit about 'got together'
The tryout happen but not the got together

Really :reye:, I think Vlasenko is the worst of them all. The one honestly with the best prospects is Shibnev. Bagin is literally:rolleye: At Russian Nationals, I believe Tarasova was really impressed with D/S, so I think he's in her good books. He also seems hungry for more success. Just a hunch...

In fact I don't think Annabelle and Bagin will be skating together. She seems to be in Switzerland now. But hey who knows.

So it begs the question did Lena try out with both Vlasenko and Shibnev?

Vlasenko is off Ice Partner Search. Is he still on the one in Russia?

Elena could be seen with other skaters on the ice for at least a couple reasons beyond finding a new competitive partner.
1. She could be skating with other athletes in order to stay in shape until more partners are likely to become available following the Olympic season. (Or until Zhiganshin is healthy).
2. She could be looking for a partner to skate with in shows.

We'll see what happens. I feel like her fans/spies are doing their part to provide us with our normal summer's quota of ice dance drama all on their own.

I guess the saying is true once a cheater always a cheater - I mean if it is true that I and K had a recent try out isn't this sort of how I and K ended with a secret try out. Oh what could have been had I and K stayed together. Who knows what would have happened and if V and M would have even returned. But we cannot pontificate on the what ifs. It is what it is.

I am not sure why would possible great success for I/K have prevented V/M from returning when the absolutely spectacular rise of P/C did not. I don't believe that I/K with their inconsistency would have been more successful than P/C. But, of course, them staying together and having the chance to prove themselves again would have been interesting - especially with a rivalry with P/C.

I feel like Russian ice dance hasn't found a way to break through.

Russian ice dance uses a very fractured, political system to develop their discipline. So we get the results we have. When they really commit to it the way they do pairs it will begin to flourish. They seem to promote couples that fortuitously show promise. They seem to lack the prowess of the French, Italians and Americans to consistently develop talent.

Can't agree with you enough. Have we stopped to recognized how mature these two are mentally and physically? After almost ten years within ice dance Katsalapov still struggles with lifts, twizzles and turns, not to mention mental toughness, so in no way is their an intimidation factor. None.

As if Elena doesn't suffer from the same, and add in lack of form. Let's just accept they haven't found any way to replicate the success they achieved in Sochi, and most likely never would - either together or apart.

Well, to each their own as they'd say.

They refuse to send talent to North America. It's like everyone is acting like all the best training In North America is some kind of coincidence! Why aren't l/d in North America already? Why aren't s/b in North America already?

The pairs coaches always acknowledge the technical aspect! The ice dance coaches almost never do! All the ice dance coaches seem to talk about is music and choreo. It's very ridiculous. If they do it's "new element". That's wring. The top priroty should always be level 4. Not new. Level 4 with plus 3 goe and a lift doesn't have to be new. And then it's not even new! It's recycled level 2. Very strange.
