Debbi Wilkes' commentary: Look for nice, deep, circular edges for the blues

52.48 for Wu/Mirzakhani

Romain Haguenauer did the choreo for Ramesh/Labelle's SD.

Yikes Brandon Labelle having a tough time. Twizzles did not go well and now he's fallen in the not touching step sequence. Ouch.

Che/Ayer's SD is choreographed by Anjelika Krylova.

Ramesh/Labelle's RoLi was level 4. Everything else was level 1. Tough to see that. Better luck for the FD.

I'm a party of one here tonight. :hb:

Broker/Korkoian's SD was choreographed by Asher Hill. So nice to see him still involved in ice dance. :)

I'm here, but enjoying a breather....

Junior Dance is improving now. Beginning to see the light beyond the tough season of retirements.

I'm trying to ready myself for ridonculous scores for Lajoie/Lagha. I like them, but they aren't the next coming of their top 2 training mates so. :ohwell:

Ashlynne Stairs and Lee Royer had a great performance.

56.19 for Stairs/Royer, into 1st.

Gina Cipriano is back with a new partner and a new section. Now representing QC.

Shae Zukiwsky choreographed this jazz SD for Gina and Jake. It felt smooth.

Chubb/Gunther's SD is also choreographed by Shae Zukiwsky.

Now I see why he's here in Ottawa. I wonder if we'll see David Wilson as well. I think we will.

Zachary Lagha looking more engaged than ever. Good job.

There isn't any better junior team in Canada right now, is there?

Marie-France Dubreil looked very happy with the performance. It's got to be inspiring training with her and being exposed to the seniors.

I think more than anything Lajoie/Lagha are benefiting from being the top junior team in Canada. The Mengs would have been ahead of them had Andrew not retired to pursue education. Bent/Razgulajevs moved up to seniors and split. So they are top dogs, and have been supported as such.

My stream cut out just as Bédard/Waddell started. I'm gonna have to rewatch them.

Teams 5-11 are separated by 2.51 points. This is like junior worlds last year where a few teams 3rd - 8th were pretty close in marks. We'll see some movement in these standings. Though Stairs/Royer look ready to take silver and go to Junior Worlds.

Lajoie/Lagha beat the Mengs last year at Nationals and were barely a point behind them at Junior Worlds so I don't know how true that is.

Gingrich/Brown were the second best team for me. I read she didn't start ice dance til last year after switching over from pairs? That's kinda nuts - I found them to be one of the best teams in terms of edge quality and smoothness.

At Nationals L/L were ahead of the Mengs. At Challenge that was not the case. Neither were they ahead internationally over the JGP. Well, we'll never know now what would happen this season. Just as we don't know about Orford/Hill.

Gingrich/Brown teamed up last year. They've gelled really well.
