The Canada haters sure are out in force tonight!
i m busy optimizing the ignore function of this forum.
Yes, NanaPat, like they have most of the season. Love to buy them a latte with maple syrup, some poutine with gravy n' bacon or a cold Moosehead beer, to cheer them up just a wee bit. Maybe that will make them sweeter.
But never mind about that. Canadian skaters did great except for PatrickCanadian fans have every reason to feel proud and happy.
You know.. I have no one on my ignore list. No one. I think someone might have earned it this grand prix. It takes a lot to piss me off and they succeeded.

Disclaimer: I have no problems with the placements. I called out D/R for their lack of interpretation in the free. My question is: how much should one partner's interpretation count? To the extent that Bruno was pretty blah during that program, that should be reflected in the PCS. He was much more engaged during their Worlds performance for example.

I’d say the Canadians had a good shot at gold in the TE, until seeing Patrick skate. Unless he finds his mojo again, Team Canada is looking an silver at best.
Sorry that folks have pissed you off. I always enjoy your sense of humor and classiness. . . . People say that figure skating is not a real sport. The passion is real!![]()
So I watched with my friend who has excellent taste but is not the kind of person to watch streams or be on a board. She really enjoyed both the Germans and the French. The French were her favourites. We were both a little confused by the Russians skating to sleeping beauty that wasn't sleeping beauty and then was. Also..was the costume change on purpose? She loved their lines and their pair elements. She thought the Germans were very special with all their interesting choreography. She admired D/R for their elements but said she preferred the French and German's programs. She agreed that D/R should be first but thought maybe J/C should be second.
I thought D/R did really, really well but prefered J/C and was surprised by how much I liked S/M and the Russians. I was gutted for I/M. My inner fangirl is crying.
hwell:Patrick, and Lubov and Dylan. I haven't watched ladies or dance yet. That will cheer me up!
I don't think Patrick will popcorn all season... first event for him... he did popcorn last year in Finlandia...just a bit less than tonight.... He had a weird mindset going into this, and had his flight delayed, arrived late, has new boots, his costumes were not there... he couldn't do quads in practice as he felt he had no power... etc...
It could be fatgue, stress, pressure, anything... the fact that he knew it was his last ever skate canada ... etc... and I am certainly not trying to find excuses for him...
BUT.. .i don't think we can assume that tonight = the rest of the season... and... D/R compensated here for Patrick... so I'd say the Team event is not a piece of cake but it's also not game over
