2017 U.S. Nationals Championship Men SP

Probably spots reserved at Bavarian Open already.

Yep! This might be good news for whoever finishes 3rd and 4th (assuming Vincent finishes 2nd). The compeititon is the same weekend as 4CC, so Vincent wouldn't be able to go if he's trying to get TES ---he W/D from the FS, so he doesn't even have 4CC TES.

Honestly, if he skates just as good in the free, the best option to get 3 spots back at this point would be to send Vincent to Worlds with Nathan. Are there any comps left for him to get tes min?

Bavarian Open, same weekend as 4CCs. Where they sent Tyler Pierce last year to get her Juniors TES for Junior Worlds.

Nathan and Vincent for the World Team!

Jason is not really in a position to help get a third spot back. Vincent is.

Let's see how the free skate goes first. Jason should be healthier in a month while Vincent has a hip injury that may get worse ala Czisny. Need more data before making a decision...

Bavarian open. However it's the same weekend as 4CC. If Jason and Ross stay 3rd/4th.. they can go to 4CC.

As long as we have 1 skater as a medal threat at Worlds, I'll be ok with that. Unfortunately, our defending Champion is out with an Injury and will be missing Worlds. We still have the free program this weekend so, I wouldn't write anyone off just yet.

I'm happy to have just 1 medal contender in both men and ladies. I just have to keep repeating to myself: Keep Calm & Watch Dance.

Nathan and Vincent to Worlds. Vincent is a little raw but he has the jumps and tonight he proved he can compete on the national stage after an absence and manage any associated nervous energy or anxiety.

Jason will never be able to compete internationally (or now, nationally??) on good PCS alone - like it or not, he simply doesn't have the tech.

Vincent has a hip injury? DId I miss some mention of this?

Nathan is a beast, and he improves that SP every time I watch it. the SP is the one where he actually performs, and God bless him, if he helps get us three spots back, I say "go Nathan". I'm not going to say something ridiculous like landing a jump should bring you Jason level PCS, but you keep improving, young man.

Jason is obviously still injured and a treat to watch even when he falls. *That* is performance:agree:

Nathan was amazing! I have to admit, when Jason fell, I closed the window as a reflex, then opened it again.
I like his costume though. It's much better than the plain shirt.
I hope he can climb back in the FS.
