2017 U.S. Nationals Championship Men SP

How long until we can expect him to be 100% again? Is this the same injury that took him out of Nationals last year?

No... he has a stress fracture of his right fibula (landing leg).. he had a really rough skate at NHK but no one knew why... discovered the injury in early December

Even with a flawed program Jason is formidable on the ice. His presentation is soooo much better than most of the other men. Happy for Ross Miner. Nathan was incredible.

I literally can't. Especially with labs.

But I probably wouldn't anyways cause I'm not dreading any of the classes I'm taking.

I have a B.S. in Chemistry.

Even if you feel like you can't, it totally happens. My entire graduating CHem major class was SO OVER IT like 2 months into the semester.

Someone even made slips of paper to give to everyone that said nothing but "F*ck" on them so we'd have "f*cks to give"

I wonder if we'll get a surprise from Timothy or his little brother Andrew Torgashev. I liked both of them tonight.

That's why you called him Branson, LOL! I just got that!!! Nice!! I bet Tom Branson would be a great skater :)

Psst- it's Downton... (not TOWN :)
Yess! Branson! I totally forgot his name cause I stopped watching that show a couple of years ago, lol. Oops, my bad about DownTON.:p I'm getting like that lady at this year's Gold Globes that messed up those two movies Hidden Figures and Fences, and called the one w/ Denzel Hidden Fences.

Nathan and Vincent for the World Team!

Jason is not really in a position to help get a third spot back. Vincent is.

I disagree with this. Vincent has no international senior experience. International judges are not going to give him the PCS score he got here. I'm not saying that's fair, but it is what it is.

It's all right. There's only seven points between Max and 4th, and Jason is 4th. It's all right. That's a lot of moving room. Sure Max will get even less help than the already zero help he gets at Nationals but it'll be all right, right? It has to be all right.

Oh who am I kidding, I'm bawling my eyes out on my couch right now.

Look who isn't skating that was competing in 2015. Jeremy, Josh, Adam, Richard D either injured sitting out or retired. Tell me what other country can lose talent like that and still be as strong?

Jeremy and Richard Dornbush splatted all the time. Adam has no quad. Farris was a hit and miss case, mostly miss. I just find it strange that American men think not having a quad is no hindrance to success. Oh well, there is always the Lysacek success story. I'm all for Chen and Zhou getting Worlds spot.

What a mistake! It wasn't ready.

I actually thought Max was very committed to the choreography throughout. Not sure I believe that it was debuting a new program that caused the issues. The jumps, and confidence, weren't there.

I find Jason's "artistry" not bad, but incredibly overrated. Beautiful spins, though.

Different strokes. That's what is great about figure skating, while there will be skaters whose style isn't your taste, there will always be skaters who you love to watch no matter what- Jason is one of those skaters for me. Oddly enough, I thought Adam was overrated until his FS this year won me over to him.

Perhaps, but Vincent NEEDS the senior int'l experience now. He'll get score better and better each competition, provide he continues to skate well.

No, it wasn't. But I doubt he would have been getting on the world team with his old program anyway. At least the new one suits his style, and he can get a head start getting comfortable with it going into the Oly season

I'm sorry but nobody deserves artistic credit for flawed programs as technically inferior as Jason.
I think the members of the audience would disagree.
He was one of the few men that was getting applause for all his non jump elements as well.
In person, he really captivates you even more than watching on a screen.
