2017 Worlds Helsinki Info and Chat

Just got a mail from Helsinki site regarding Single Event Tickets Sale info.

"As a subscriber to our newsletter, you have the opportunity to reserve the best seats in the house for Worlds 2017 events before the tickets officially go on sale. Tickets will be available for newsletter subscribers on the 1st of October at 9.00 AM (EET). Click the link below to enter the ticket office. Don't miss your chance!

We look forward to amazing performances and the great drama of sports. Ticket prices start from €20.17. Family tickets are from €58. Tickets for the Exhibition of the Champions for the whole family start from €99.60.

Please note that the online ordering opens on the 1st of October at 9.00 AM."

Wonderful timing, as always. That's 8 am my timezone... exactly when I'm leaving for horse-riding. They couldn't have announced this like a bit more ahead of time (and whatever happened to the "second week of October"?).

(and whatever happened to the "second week of October"?).

:) just a wild guess, but this might be some sort of pre-sale and tickets might still officially go on sale in the second week of October

Is EET Eastern European Time? I think that's 3AM tomorrow morning here in Boston. Also I just noticed first row in balcony 315 popped up today and is currently available with many more balcony tickets on that same side as well.

Yes, but I'd be careful with that. I guess they could mean Eastern European Summer Time, which means it would be an hour earlier. If you check online for EET and EEST you get different results. I'll just assume they mean 9 AM local time in Finland, which should be EEST

If I could give you an extra huge thumbs up for this I would ;)

Also thank you!

Pre-sale. Yes, okay. "Best seats in the house"? Uhhuh. Sure, right. Not holding my breath. :sarcasm:

It's 2AM here in Boston and the single event seats just went on sale through this pre-sale. Very underwhelming choice of seats available and far from "Best seats in the house". I probably shouldn't have even looked since I already have an all event package but it was hard not to be intrigued. I see one Ice Level 1 row 11 and another in row 19; that's about as good as it gets. Nice to see they have "affordable" child seats available though. Ok, back to bed!

yep :sarcasm: they really should give those amazing seats to the VIPs and give us some of those crappy seats behind/near the judges. I'd be willing to make that sacrifice.
Nice surprise that they sell tickets for the practices, though. I already liked the idea of having reserved seats for practices.

I had my alarm clock on today and I managed to buy 6 individual tickets. Great. Luckily Finland doesn't have exactly medal hopes so the ladies' event is much cheaper than at Euros in Helsinki (when Laura L. won). I'm from Finland...

Maybe they mean the best of what is available?
I cannot imagine the entire area of the four blocks on the judges' side to not be available. Surely that's not all reserved for VIPs and touring groups? But as of this morning 8 am my time, am strongly beginning to suspect that is indeed the case.
Oh well. Not like I had high hopes to begin with. And anyway, we do have fine seats on the other side, so cannot complain too much.

No, but if those are not available now then they cannot be among the best of what's available...now. If all that's available are seats in the 11th row and balcony, then by default the best (available) seats are in the 11th row.

Hi!

I hadn't paid much attention to this threat before because I wasn't planning to go to Worlds (it was difficult to combine with work, basically :() but suddenly it seems I might have a chance :yahoo:. I've seen pre-sale tickets have just gone on sale, but I'm not sure how can I get them. Is subscribing to the newsletter enough or do I have to do anything else?

I've been doing a little bit of planning and I doubt I'll be able to get to Helsinki by Wednesday to see the whole event so I'll probably pick separate tickets for the finals and some shorts if possible. Could anyone tell me how much do tickets cost? I'll probably buy Ice Level tickets for ladies and Men finals and then maybe balcony for others...it depends on the total cost since I'll be buying tickets for another person as a present too. I'm still figuring out what to do...I would love to go to EVERYTHING but I'm afraid it would be too expensive. Additionally I've never been to Helsinki before so a little bit of sightseeing would be great too :). I guess another option would to enter the arena to see the last groups only and spend the rest of the time in the city.

And just one last question...I've seen the arena is quite big. Is it similar to Bercy? I was at the Balcony of Paris Bercy in 2013 TEB so I just wanted to get and idea of what sights I'll have from there.

Thanks! :thank:

I had subscribed to the newsletter and as a result I got an e-mail message on Friday with a link to the pre-sell tickets. The sale got started today in the morning, Finnish time. The general sale will start next week, 8 Oct.
I haven't been to Bercy, but Hartwall Arena is big, the home arena of Jokerit ice-hockey team and with capacity of over 13 000. The upper balcony seats are quite far, I couldn't throw stuffed toys from there to the ice..they landed on some spectators below who threw them further. I've been at the arena at 1999 Worlds and 2009 Europeans to watch figure-skating.

Just bought Ladies FS tickets. Didn't want to risk and wait for open sale to start so decided the seats offered at the pre-sale.
Will probably buy some other separate event tickets later. Ladies FS was my must-go :D

My Finnish friend who is subscribed to newsletter bought me tickets, so I cannot really tell you if you must be subscribed to buy them or not.

You can see the prices there ;)

Thank you very much for the info!! :). However, I'm seeing that very few Ice level 1 tickets are still available. Really bad news :palmf:...are these the only tickets left in the arena or do they put new ones up for sale? If not, it seems the arena is really really full! :eeking:

As far as I know, the entire lower area in blocks 107 to 110 were never released to the public (barring maybe some premium level tickets?); not with the all-events tickets, and not now with the pre-sale. It would make very little sense to suddenly open those up with the normal sale for the individual tickets.
So I'm guessing those are reserved for the VIP packages, maybe the tour groups etc. <--- in which case they might (?) open up closer to the actual competition, if the seats weren't sold or... ?
Possibly some other blocks have been left out of the sales so far, too.
