2017 Worlds Helsinki Info and Chat

There are restaurants and cafes in the upper levels, like behind 118/119 etc. I only had a coffee and a wrap which was edible.

I'm flying to Helsinki tomorrow morning. I hope to meet some of you at the Hartwell Arena.
Whats the weather like? Just wondering whether I'll need my snow boots.

Don't think so - I've been wearing my converse sneakers for two weeks now ;)

TMC.............As the official guardian of all things having to do with a dancers feet.....STOP wearing converse sneakers....My students love those things and I can't tell how much I beg them not to. I realize they're cute and my students love all the colors they come in but, do yourself a favor and put insoles in them. You'll thank me when you get older.....:agree:

I did put insoles in! I turned 40 and became sensible last year

Warning. No alcohol or concession food allowed in the rink. Concourse only. Never heard of this before. Gestapo-esque enforcement.

Hey!!! I'm travelling to Helsinki on Wednesday (couldn't go earlier for work reasons) and I'm suuper excited right now. I'll be landing in Helsinki at 13:00 so I'll be late for the ladies short (I have tickets for everything except for that). However, I see that the event finishes at 16:30 and now I'm considering buying cheap tickets and see the last group. Does that sound too crazy?? If everything goes as planned I think it's possible...I'll think about it.

BTW, what's the temperature inside the arena? Just to know what I should wear. I'm coming from Barcelona...so not really used to cold weathers at all XD

Thank you!

Hi, there are tickets for 26 euro http://www.lippu.fi/2017-world-figu...912327&jumpIn=yTix&kuid=520280&from=erdetaila

The temperature it's ok, only a little bit cold close to the sits in front of the ice. The outside temperature is cold, especially at night, around 3 degrees.

Does anyone know if there's a place in the arena, or anywhere in Helsinki for that matter, where I can rent a pair of binoculars? Mine were too heavy to bring.

Do you remember the excitement, when you was as child going to first camp ever or the the morning of the first day at school when you started 1st class? It is nothing compared to a 52 years old woman going to see her first figure skating competition ever. In fact, first figure skating anything ever. After reading the rapports of the pairs increased it to heaven. I love the pair skating so much.

About the temperature they say this: During ice hockey matches, the temperature hovers at 17 degrees (63F) on the lower level / 19 degrees (66F) on the upper level.I think it must near the same during figure skating.

It is full winter where I am now, over 500 km north from Helsinki.

Any further plan for meet ups? Didn't plan ahead with food and drink and was forced to buy expensive sad food in the arena. Bring your own food people. It's worth the effort
