2017 Worlds Helsinki Info and Chat

I would like to join you tomorrow for drink or something.

Hey all:). Appreciating all the info shared here and on other threads...this will be the very first skating event I attend!! Does anyone know how easy it is to get a taxi from the arena? The site map mentions taxis, but I'm not sure if that is just a drop-off/pick-up location or an actual stand? Thanks in advance:)!

There will probably be taxis there during the competition, but your best bet is to phone one. Try Taksi Helsinki +358 (0)100 0700.

Does somebody know which bus/tram stop is better to reach Hartwall? Because Google maps is confusing me! The alternatives seem to be Iso Paja, Messukeskus or Pasilan asema.

I'm not sure, but as I looked, Kyllikinportti seems the closest (with tram). You should look up Helsinki Journey Planner. It helps a lot with buses, trams and trains!

There is a taxi queue outside the upper level of the arena.

Kyllikinportti is the closest, but still at least a 10/15 minute walk - and an unpleasant one. Be sure to ask the tram driver (not sure that's the proper term) to direct you when you exit. It's slightly confusing- you have to walk around a curve, then cross the street on the left, then walk, then cross right at signal, walk across bridge and you'll see Arena on the right.

If possible, take a train. It's fastest and it's easy to walk from Pasila to the arena. And every train stops in Pasila!

For me it is difficult to write with these small things so i shall avoid it at arena. you see a short angrylooking woman wearing eyeglasses with blue earpieces and blue big ladies bag, do not be afraid to "catch my sleeve". I do not bite. I can read these conversations, though.

The first day I got off at Kyllikinportti and it was not easy and nice.
Messuskeskus is much better (or the train to Pasila).

Hi! I'm on my way to Helsinki...yay!!! I have two extra tickets (balcony) for the Short Dance on Friday. I will be in the Arena all days. Is anyone interested? I have them printed and I'll give them for free.

Update on the banners. They played random banner generation, took some down, put some others up, aaaand I guess the rest of us is just screwed because no more space left. Way to go ISU, good strategy to piss off the last few people who actually care and make an effort.

Actually, no a second look, they didn't take down some, but most of the banners that were there yesterday. There's only four of those left that were hung up before

Hey everyone!
Looooooong time no post here, geeesh!
I'm finally going to my first competition ever, I'm over excited!
I've got tickets for Pairs and ladied free and men's practice.
Anybody else staying at Best Western near the arena?

I'm interested in a SD ticket. Are you at the ladies SP? Maybe we can meet up during a ice resurface or after SP. I'm sitting in section 105.
