AFAIK, it is not a "FACT" regarding "the goose." V/M have continued to perform "the goose" in exhibition programs.

Have they ever said that they cannot do the goose anymore??

On the other hand, P/C are capable of more right now. Cizeron in particular. P/C have yet to skate their best this season and their programs are also not the best this season (the SD in particular). Yet, it remains that they are the best of the field if they do deliver to their full potential.

What are you talking about V/M do the goose in their exhibition. Here's them doing it at 4CC https://youtu.be/v2DQlpGFZ_8?t=2m18s. They stopped performing it in competition it because you should change lifts. In fact, no other team has benefitted from easier lift requirements more than P/C.
 
Virtue and Moir were at their best in 2010. If they can come back 8 years later and still be the best, that is tremendously impressive. I wish them well.

Doing it in that easier position for a couple seconds is not the same. It's not really possible to say if P/C benefited more in comparison considering their development in the past several years. With what we DO still have in the dances, however, I notice many instances of P/C being able to hit better positions and transitions between positions better.

If you are criticizing the length of V/M's goose, how can you say that P/C hit's positions when they are maintain the positions for very few seconds?
 
IMO, V/M have never been better when it comes to dancing, linking their elements, and really performing throughout. I think there was a bit more bite and attack and ease in the actual itemized elements when they're younger, but I just plain prefer them now that they're older and are clearly in a really peaceful place that it comes through in their skating. Their skating now reminds me of the days when ice dancers hit their artistic and dancing peak in their late 20s/early 30s and V/M remind me why that is.

That's because dance is more than just technique.
 
I knew someone would post that. It's not close to what Guillaume does. Scott's position isn't held as long and isn't as secure, the weight is evenly balanced with the arms both counterbalanced by the other skater (as compared to Guillaume having the other skater on one side of his body AND putting his free arm in an off-balance position at the same time), and it isn't transitioned into a knee slide.

Lol anyone who thinks that basic P/C lift is harder than V/M's Prince lift is smoking something real nice.

Shibs have poor ice covarage than their rivals. I'm not counting Virtue/Moir and Papadakis/Cizeron as their rivals of course. Teams like Bobrova/Soloviev, Weaver/Poje have better ice covarage, also have more speed. Other teams use more variation of speed which shows their skating skills better. Shiutanis shallow edges and curveless turns often results as level2 If there is not American/Canadian specialist on the panel. After 4CC, I don't think they will get level4s like candy from canadian specialists anymore. Who is going to be in technical panel for Worlds by the way?

And you are completely ignoring that ice dance evaluates two people, not just one. At the mentioned lifts, Scott is doing something difficult and Tessa is doing something difficult. Guillaume is doing something difficult and the only one who is just sitting in there like a sack of whatever, is Gabriella, practically she is taking a nap above Guillaume.

This competition can't start fast enough, I'm looking forward to damage control after rather than the actual skates. I tell you no lie I tried watching P/C, V/M and the Shibs FDs back to back and I couldn't do it. Worse the Shibs, couldn't get through half of it in one go. Then I looked at Bobrova and Soloviev; she really has been reduced to poached chicken breast, how do you do that, considering they had Chess, The Sailor Routine, Adagio and more recently Crazy? My favourite FDs in these last couple of seasons have been Picasso from Hurtado and Diaz, Frida from Ruslena, Zlobina and Sitnikov Rene Aubry. I hope next season is even marginally more interesting than this season.

I have watched the Shibs skate live many, many times since they were juniors. Of course they have improved over the years but have been quality level for several years winning national and world medals at junior and senior levels, so "a lot of people" saying they skate small is not convincing as "fact" in and of itself.
