Irina Slutskaya gave an interesting interview. Maybe a russian is kind to help with a proper translation. I never knew she had such a relation with Butyrskaya

Only the gist:
Pairs in SLC
Berezhnaya and Sikharulidze were on the different level than Sale and Pelletier. Just incomparable. Believe me as the person who dedicated 30 years to this sport.
The loss to Arakawa
It was my fault – I failed one element. But I was under pressure – I knew that they would not give 4 golds to Russia. My short program was one of the strongest but the judges were very reserved. She got +2 +3 for every element while I had only zeroes. Even if I had not fallen I would not have won. But it’s my problem – I gave up before the start because I knew beforehand that they sold my medal.
The U.S.A.
You don’t want to read that – one big conspiracy theory.
Butyrskaya
We started to talk recently after a very long break. The people always created the tension between us. And back then it was close to hate. Luckily, we did not have Instagram then. In 1999 her car was burnt. They took me to police and investigator told me that I would end up in jail. I was crying telling them what I did that day minute by minute.
Doping
I was setup in 1999. They found the stuff, which goes through injections. I am scrupulous in general regarding what goes inside me and I am afraid of syringes. I made another set of tests and they were clean.
Medvedeva
She has to stay. But 3A get senior next year and I don’t understand how to compete with them if they keep their tech content. Neither Medvedeva nor Zagitova would have bonus next season for their previous achievements. This is right. And there are other than 3A skaters in the line – I can name 5 of them. I was lucky - I did not have that situation.
Money
We were poor. After winning junior worlds they gave me 500 dollars. Dresses, choreographers, tickets, hotels – I paid out of my pocket from prize money. They allotted money to me before Turin – I did not spend all and ask to give me the rest for the next season. They said that the money had been gone.
