2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

While a bit offtopic, but since in this thread eating disorders are commonly discussed.
Sinitsina in the US: https://www.sports.ru/figure-skating/1066267700.html

Marina Zoueva was always weighting me, I developed fear of it. Before weighting, i was removing all the hair acessories and jewellery, and ran to the toilet to, god forbid, don't have an extra gram. I cried. But I desperately wanted to skate. I needed to keep myself in shape at any cost. I bent myself thanks to Marina.
When training was over, in the evening, I wore pants, 3 hoods, and once a week even wrapped myself in (??? polyethilene) film, and ran for an hour non stop. Dried myself heavily.
First, i did one diet, then another, then a third one, the started eating just rice. Later i simply got crazy about it, weighting myself four times a day. It was not normal.

also, it's getting hard to keep track of all the -3Lo combos so I'm going to try and see if I can:

3Lo-3Lo:
Evgenia Medvedeva in training
Elizaveta Nugumanova
Natalia Ogoreltseva

3F-3Lo:
Elizaveta Nugumanova in training
Viktoria Vasilieva
Anastasia Gracheva
Alexandra Trusova
Alina Zagitova

3Lz-3Lo
Elizaveta Nugumanova in training
Alena Kanysheva in elements
Ksenia Sinitsyna
Alena Kostornaya
Anna Shcherbakova
Alexandra Trusova
Sofia Samodelkina
Alina Zagitova

The 3lz-3lo is probably gonna become unavoidable for the girls who want to survive in the field in these upcoming years

Alina did a 3F-3Lo as a junior last year (after having bad landings on both of her 3Lz in the FP). Does she still count? https://youtu.be/toiSBY7X5rk

You really need to watch this next to her performance in the Individual Event in Pyeongchang (which wasn‘t even her best outing in the FS) and just marvel how much she improved. This is about a difference of less than a year and she‘s faster, more confident and her jumps just look so much better and less UR. I hope she can improve even more next season. The OGM came kinda early at 15 and I hope she doesn‘t take the route Lipnitskaya and Sotnikova did but if you look at what a difference one year of training made in her performance, I don‘t think she will. She seems a lot happier and more relaxed after the OG than before, e.g. in how she‘s handling the media attention, interviews and advertisements.

About Anna Pogorilaya... Well, I think if you tackle training with a positive mindset you can achieve a lot. Anna‘s nerves often was the cause of problems. When she is doubting herself, she bombs big time. So, I believe that if she has positive vibes and support from people around her she loves and a different perspective, she can still do a lot. Maybe it‘s too early to already try to participate in the GP but if she thinks she‘s ready... then we have to trust her. I still hope Tsareva gets in her right mind and finally teaches her students how to fall without being in danger of breaking half of their limbs but well... that‘s one of the things I doubt will happen. I just hope her back is better but Pogo-splats could make it worse again. Oh, Tsareva. How hard is it to hire somebody to teach skaters how to fall correctly if you can‘t do it yourself? Sorry, but I have no acceptance for this. It‘s like she‘s deliberately putting her skaters in danger and we‘ve seen the toll falls like these take on the health.

Other skaters I‘m interested in this season: Evgenia Medvedeva for obvious reasons. She has a lot to prove and I hope she will. I‘m sure Brian and her have worked a lot and she‘ll be excited to show us all the progress she made. I just hope her foot is okay now, it’s really been a serious injury, making her skate through the pain at various events in the season or even withdraw from others like Worlds or GPF she otherwise could have won. I don‘t want to see her struggle that much again.

Also, Polina Tsurskaya of course. She‘s one of my all time favourites and I want to see her jumps back with the consistency they had. This lutz is to die for. :luv17: Like with Evgenia, I just hope her health is fine. Please no more illnesses and injuries! :(

Liza Tuktamysheva.. Well, the post-Olympics season seems to be hers and we have seen her gorgeous 3A in trainings. Now let‘s just hope we‘ll see it back in competition again, too!

I hope Elena Radionova gets her jumps under control because she‘s such a nice performer. It doesn‘t matter to what she‘s skating, she‘s always giving it her all and pouring her soul into it. Even though Titanic was a literal wrack of a program she still made it... maybe not tolerable but at least you could watch it without dying alongside Jack. Lately it seems like she got frustrated with her jumps and it was evident in her skating as well, so I hope she gets to work on that. She needs to challenge her landings, there have always been quite rough. Now idea how much she can change it at this point but I hope for the best.

Sima Sakhanovich seems so motivated this season and I hope it can translate to her skating. Her jumps are smallish and certainly not the best but she‘s so likeable and is quite good at performing.

I hope Dasha Panenkova does well, too even though I can‘t get my hopes up too much. Tsareva... well, let‘s say I don‘t trust her at all. It says something when I want somebody to stay at Eteri because I‘m god knows not a fan of her but I just feel like Tsareva is worse. Let‘s hope it will turn out fine for her, though. I think she has potential and while her jumps aren‘t the prettiest, they are solid. Her programs last season just seemed sloppy and not like there was a lot of thought put into them. She needs something better. This season is really important for her.

Did I forget someone? I‘m talking about senior skaters only, junior is a whole other story.

Without a GP, can Pogorilaya even qualify to nationals? There's so few spots available via Russian Cup stages qualification, and one bad performance could put her too far down to even qualify, and of course, we shouldn't expect her to be consistent when she's coming back from injury and was never very consistent anyway (although 2016-2017 was pretty good).
