2018-2019 GP Assignments

It's 8 pm in Korea now. I guess they have already sent their answer to ISU. It's 1 pm in Switzerland, so I hope they will say something quite soon.

No news is good news - but not in this case! You'd think that there would be some leak of info somewhere - :drama:

I'm going to plays devil's advocate and say give it to Taipei if Korea refuses. They've been so obliging about hosting 4CC when nobody else wanted to, and it is easy traveling distance for Japanese fans so they should be able to fill up the arena.

ETA: with the correct skaters 😉

As a native Taiwanese of course I'd welcome the idea...but after checking the availability of Taipei arena during that period of time, it just turns out to be impossible. Then you realize it's just not THAT easy for any other country to commit to holding that event with a time frame of less than half of a year.

Maybe not. Last 4CC exhibition was interrupted by the cut of electricity. From what I know, the issue is not solved ... it was quite dangerous, luckily no one was injured

Very good point. The Milan Mediolanum forum is also impossible during the first weekend of November, so there goes that backup plan, if there ever was one to begin with.

What about the Palavela in Torino? Both Euros and Worlds have been held there before. Looking online quickly, I can't tell if it's booked or not, but that could be another option in Italy.

wouldn't it be a bit big for a GP anyway? same as the arena that world's in Helsinki was in, but maybe there are smaller ones around?

There is an event going on at Mediolanum that weekend, so that is out. There is Sesto Sangiovanni, they used it as a practice venue during Lombardia Trophy. A bit shabby but sufficient size-wise. Nothing seems to be scheduled at Palavela at this point, so that should be a valid candidate. Personally I really hope for that!

Guys, do not tempt me to become broke, but if this GP is in Italy, I will seriously think about going:drama::laugh:

hehe, I am not even a vacation person - the best vacation I can imagine is to hang out with figure skaters and their team, attending competition is the closest equivalent:):):). I have great memories form Milan, Italy from March and it would be awesome to get back there!

we can all be broke together, I'm gonna have to travel from my semester abroad in Poland to wherever this may be :dance2:

I was in Milan too! I loved the experience so much :) Although it was a bit shadowed by the fact that I got robbed at the venue :(

Thank you so much :thank::ghug: fortunately it was just a powerbank, but it was basically new so I got a bit upset :( I hope Japan will treat me a bit better :)

I am so anxious for the GP assignments though! I pray Yuzu is coming to Europe
