Sorry to hear this. This type of thing is very unnerving. I was robbed (thru a fine) by the transit police when getting off the Metro. I realize these things happen, but it left me with a really bad feeling. I had to make a conscious decision to work hard at not letting that incident spoil what was otherwise a wonderful experience. Seems like the organizers should have provided more details about how to use the transit system. Oh well!
It may be a small consolation but you are far from alone, they deployed extra control to hound on the WC goers who are totally unfamiliar with the local metro system AND don't understand Italian. Forum was "strategically" located, JUST outside the zone 1, where you needed a different kind of ticket (more expensive), which no one would tell you if you don't think about it. I saw them pouncing on one unsuspecting foreign visitor after another and was disgusted. It really left a sour taste in the mouth of so many WC spectators :-(
BTW I am betting on Hanyu to be assigned to Canada and NHK, and seriously doubt whether he will come to this side of Atlantic Ocean for GP.
I was stopped along with many other people. In fact, it was like a United Nations of visitors. There were people from Sweden, Ireland, Canada, U.S., France, and other countries that I can't remember at this point. The family of 4 who got screwed out of 140 Euros was the worst. Plus someone said they were charging different fines to different people, which tells me something was not quite right there. There were also tickets for sale at tobacco stores and other places, and one lady explained to the ticket seller where she was going and they sold her the wrong ticket and she got fined. Not a good thing!...When Boston had Worlds, on their web site, they had a video of how you use the Metro, purchase your tickets, etc.
I'm hoping for Shoma for Sk Can. Someone says we'll know tomorrow (Thurs.)?
from Mirai's interview on nbc, it says tomorrow
It would be great if that's correct! Nevertheless other sources say decisions being made here in TO Jun. 26-28, with assignments announced on the 29th. Just mentioning in case anyone gets upset if the announcements aren't dropped tomorrow.
And if they are still scrambling around for the CoC replacement I wouldn't be surprised if there is a delay. But again, I hope not!
It was so incorrect of the Italian organizers to warn clearly about the metro ticket. I just hope the future visitors to any other skating events in Milan will be all the wiser for this at least.I was stopped along with many other people. I assume they have figured it out. Even if Korea said no, they'd have been lining up their backup plan in advance, since this is all happening on short notice anyway.According to a poster on FSU, a skater they know said that the picks have already been made, but it's not official until they release the list. Which sounds like they've figured out the 3rd GP.
That's not possible, as Nathan will be at Skate America (and IdF). Shoma's options are some combination of SCI, NHK, and the unknown China replacement. If Hanyu goes to Canada like I suspect, I think Shoma will do SA instead.
The NBC article about Mirai states that assignments will be released tomorow (Thursday 6/28).
Waiting eagerly.
Will be a day of pressing f5
ctrl+F5?
Is the new GP destination revealed tomorrow, or are they going to mark it "???" ?

Depends on weather, but in the fall should be fine. Nice mountain drive through Vermont.it's only a 5 hour drive to skate canada from boston?!? maybe ill go!!
just f5 to refresh browser

Hmmm, I can't imagine NHK without Hanyu (supposing he doesn't hurt himself like the last time), and I don't think it's possible to allot Shoma as well there. And I have a feeling many of the Team Orser will go to Skate Canada. So Shoma to the Non-China GP and either RosTel or France? Tension amounts![]()
Hanyu is unseeded, so he can go anywhere that's willing to invite him.Hmmm, I can't imagine NHK without Hanyu (supposing he doesn't hurt himself like the last time), and I don't think it's possible to allot Shoma as well there.
