2018-2019 GP Assignments

Correct me if I'm wrong, but feds can't pick below #75 on the SB list unless they are making a host pick, right? Rostelecom already has 3 Russian men, and Zandron is already #67 on the SB list, so they'll probably go upwards, but I'd love to see Carrillo (#71) get his first GP assignment!

Donovan plans to skate the JGP this year, so he is not eligible to skate the senior GP events. I believe he can skate other events as a senior.

He would certainly be a crowd pleaser when or if he gets a GP. :hap10:

Chant it with me folks:

Second Event for Brendan. Second Event for Brendan. Second Event for Brendan.

If he still trains in Russia there's a good chance for that.

My vote goes to Nicolas Nadeau. Anyway, in the end I think many from the list will get two assignements :)

With Morozov in Jersey.

Brendan is SB33 and WR33. Nadeau is SB40 and WR80. On what grounds exactly should Nadeau get a second before Brendan? Besides, Nadeau is a chance to get the Skate Canada TBD, a luxury Brendan doesn't have.

just my preference :) And can't also the host choose who they prefer(for different reasons), not going strictly with season bests or world records?

And I suppose most Yuzu fans will prefer Finland to Russia because for Russia a visa is needed and that makes trip planning more difficult...?
Anyways, it will be an interesting competition and to go there and watch it live, will be totally worth it.

Yuzu fans in my country prefer Russia though since we do not need to obtain a visa. I myself went there last season and met a large number of Chinese fans.
I have checked hotels in Moscow and found that the ones near the arena were fully booked just overnight, so much quicker than last season.

It would definitely be harder for Nicholas to up his WR to that of Brendan this early in his career.

He’s only a second year senoir and actually has competition to make it to 4CC and Worlds/Olympics. Brendan’s berths are pretty much garaunteed.

While I agree that Brendan has a better SB, it’s not like 33 and 40 are THAT far apart.

Min/Gamelin’s split leaves an open spot at SA.

Very sad when the only senior team of non big fed splits :(

Anyways.. Next 10 Dance teams in the SB:

- Fear & Gibson GBR (SA)
- Evdokimova & Bazin RUS (COR)
- Muller & Dieck GER (SA)
- Yanovskaya & Lukacs HUN (COR)
- Reed & Ambrulevicius LTU (IdF)
- Torn & Partanen (Finland)
- Tweedale & Buckland GBR (SC)
- Mansour & Ceska CZE (Finland)
- Koch & Nuchtern GER
- Garabedian & Senecal ARM (COR)

If Mansour & Ceska are indeed continuing and traning in US. I would bet on them. Reed & Ambrulevicius is the other obvious choice.

If you've heard a rumour about them not splitting, please do tell. I like them so I could do with some cheering up.

Nothing but I havent read anything official either that¿s why I left it in the air. If the split is confirmed then I guess Reed/Ambrulevicius are the most likely candidates for the SA spot.

This would also open a dance spot in Finland for M&C : Any of the 2 russia based teams could go there (Evdokimova/Bazin, Yanovskaya/Lukacs)

As for Garabedian/Senecal, apparently they are also done so another open spot at COR: RUS could return the favour and invite Torn/Partanen if FIN invites E&B.

Well, I hate to say this with my whole heart, but we have now one empty spot at Rostelecom Cup...

I go back and forth on if they should fill it.

Part of me says no, that they should just have a moment to remember Denis.

The other part of me thinks, he would probably want someone else to have the opportunity to skate.

Part of me thinks so too. It would be nice if they had a moment of silence for Denis Ten at the rostelecom cup.
