2018-2019 GP Assignments

??? Do ISU consider such personal conflicts, and accomodate the schedule according to a personal program of individual skaters??? Uni schedule of Chen is not a problem of ISU, to me this sounds a little strange.

Nope. But Nathan won Worlds and Rank first at last season, so he can suggest his preference.

I can't connect to ISU home page atm. Could it possibly be that they are updating the site with certain new announcement???

How does that actually work with the GP that must not be named?
Which skater pics an anonymous event voluntarily without knowing where to go?
Or do the skaters know already? :scratch2:

Same here. You may be right with the update.

SA and IDF are the only two work for Nathan’s school schedule. He needs approval from Yale if the competition is not during Yale’s break. That is why at this point he could not commit to 4CC next year. Why is that politicking?

Strictly speaking, since it was his choice to go to Yale, the fact he would need special approval from them to go to other GPs should be irrelevant when it comes to making assignments. No different than a vacation or wedding.

Nathan doesn't need Yale's permission to travel during the semester. He's considered an adult who can make his own decisions with full awareness of the consequences. But if he wants to have an absence excused, a deadline extended, or a test or other project rescheduled, he'll have to arrange that directly with each professor, who will not be obligated to grant his request. Yale has very clear rules about the circumstances in which the administration can require an instructor to grant such a request, and the only athletic competitions that qualify are intercollegiate varsity competitions, at which the student/athlete is competing for Yale on an organized varsity-level Yale team (not a club team, not as an individual athlete).

The full rules are here:

Hi guys,

Could someone please summarize what's going on with the assignments and the location of the formerly Chinese GP? At work right now and I did read the last few pages, but was unable to find an answer.

Basically no one knows what's up with the now defunct CoC GP. It was supposed to go to Korea and they had until this past Monday to accept or refuse the GP but no word has been given about their decision. Alternatively, there was talk of Milan taking it.

The assignments ARE decided, though, according to someone at FSU, so ISU just needs to announce them and will probably announce the new GP with the assignments.

You were so much more succinct than I was.

I am so anxious, my hands are literally shaking :drama:

Please come to Europe Zuzu! Skate Canada is unlucky for you!

GP assignments are supposed to be published today. Maybe today it will be also announced who hosts the GP instead of China (I guess they will announce it if it has been decided).

They can't announce the assignments without attributing the Homeless GP to a new host. I mean... can you imagine a good hundred of athletes just saying- oh I don't care where you wanna do that event, sign me in, I'll come anyways, I'm just too adventurous.

Exactly my problem as well:

:laugh2:

Sounds great to me :D
