2018-2019 Programs By Discipline

Piper Gilles & Paul Poirier
RD: ?
FD: “Vincent” by Don McLean (cover by Govardo)

Just announced on Piper’s Instagram, as part of a program depicting the creation of The Starry Night. The cover was created specifically for the program.

I truly admire Piper and Paul for thinking outside the box.

But I hated that song then, I hate it now, I don’t like Don McLean and the album cover (yes children, album cover) with a thumb and a berry and who the heck covers Don McLean?:gaah:

I ADORED their Argentinean tango program!

I've been checking the first page of this thread so many times to see Yuzu and Sui Han and still nothing. :sad21:

This is the first time they've made a lame music choice :D The original is seriously better, all these modern covers miss the point of the original epicly as a rule.

Is this the french song :"sos d'un terrien en detresse" ? If it is, this is one of the most beautiful, heartbreaking and sad french song.

"why do i live
why do i die
why do i laugh
why do i cry
here the S.O.S
from a man on earth in distress"

Yes, it is. And I'm tearing up listening to that 50 something second clip of them talking about it.

Kirsten Moore-Towers and Michael Marinaro's FS was previously indicated to be a Pink Floyd medley. Per this new interview, the medley is "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", "The Great Gig in the Sky" and "Another Brick in the Wall".

Someone posted on the Yuzu thread that Jeffrey Buttle will choreograph the SP and Shae-Lynn the FS, so given what wonders they've done with him before, this will be interesting. Plus David Wilson for the exhibition and we have the trifecta, folks :yes2:

Yeah I forgot to add then the site kept borking at me and wouldn't let me edit ahahaha

So it's a tribute to his figure skating origins (Johnny and Plushenko)

Apparently he's skating what he feels like now and not for results. And if he wants to skate tributes to his two favorite skaters, he chose the right songs for it. Imagine if he'd chosen Sex Bomb instead...
