Vandersarren clearly hoping to get the TES minimums to take Belgium’s second Worlds spot. Is there anybody else who could go with Loena?

If I am reading the schedule correctly on the website, the ladies skate their short program at 8AM? That doesn't seem very right...

Yup, looks like it! I don't mind; it's extremely convenient for me time-zone wise. :) And it does mean that they get a better break between SP and FS than might otherwise be the case.

It's a big group - even with a couple of recent withdrawals (Shkuleta-Gromova and Kropa if I'm remembering correctly) there are still 39 women skating here. I can understand why they decided to start it out early.

Just found out that Noémie Bodenstein has moved to a new coach, though I don't know who it is yet - hope to find out some news here, if the livestream is free. Good luck for Friday and Saturday, Noémie! :)

(By the way, in the Ladies' Short Program thread the programs listed for Noémie are actually her younger brother's! She's still skating to Variations on the Kanon and The Dream Maker per her ISU bio).

True - I think I was thinking more along the lines of a Grand Prix. I forgot how many skaters there will be. (I will be catching up afterward. 8AM in Croatia will be 2AM for me!)

It's indeed a little strange to start a competition at 8 am, especially for locals. For ladies traveled from far away, that can be something good. Maybe all skaters are early birds but for me, to even wake up at 8 am is extremely challenging:laugh:

Olympic events were starting at 10 am with official practices at 6 so it would fit prime time TV slot at another end of the world.
