Yeah what's Jim's deal? How'd he get roped into doing figure skating (and speed skating) commentary, I read somewhere he played football or something?!

Happens a lot with the Olympics - some countries/networks send certain broadcasters for one or the other thing, but to make it worth it they have them do commentary on multiple sports. Like CBC sent Elliotte Friedman, who regularly does hockey commentary during the NHL season, to Rio for broadcasting, and while commenting on swimming, Friedman accidentally confused Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte (swimming in adjacent lanes).
