Am I the only one concerned that there have been no new postings of videos from the Eteri camp? Last year at this time we saw Sasha and Anna landing 4lutz and Alena with her perfect 3axel from footwork. Maybe the attempts have not been too successful so far... I really want 3A to all get 3axel! It just seems weird that there have been no new videos at this point.

Yes, and I liked Bradie's programs last season and was amused that she copies Alina in some of her movements and transitions. That's why I don't see stealing and just see much ado about nothing here.

Look, I'm really not the one to actually go and do research but your persistence and looking for something to hang on to amaze me. Bradie skated her free at Autumn Classic, Sep 20-22. Alina first competed at Nebelhorn, Sep 26-29. Now I'm sure I saw Alina's Phantom performed at a summer show, did she also perform her free earlier?

If Benoit copied Daniil's arms behind the back choreo, then bad, bad Benoit. I still see a difference between copying one move and copying 48+ beats of choreo, but hey.

48+? You counted them? I just saw 2 which are hardly classified as dance movements. Like a former president of Georgia Mihail Saakashvili was famous by chewing his tie in front of cameras. Did not Jojo get inspiration from him? Well, I said at the very beginning that if the whole dance was copied it was very wrong.

Now this Jojo says that she would be glad to work with Alina. Hence, this scenario becomes real.

To be fair, if one has ever danced for any length of time, it becomes very easy to count/remember beats. No particular concentration required.

There is a huge legal difference. Between one move and a minute of moves. All the rationalizing in the world can’t explain that legal difference away.

JoJo could probably care less about Alina, except she evidently saw her on television. I doubt, like 99% of all Americans, for good or ill she could have told you who Alina was before she saw this clip. JoJo had every right to be upset.

Alina also performed it at the test skates, at the beginning of September. However I doubt anything was copied from this - Bradie's program had to be ready by then.

Yes, I counted them. I'm a skater and counts of 8 are the most natural thing in the world for me. I don't even have to count them, my brain feels them without me even trying. I am talking about music beats, if you are talking about 2 of anything, you may be talking about choreographic sequences. Which are identical.

Perhaps it's time to stop.

The ladies that don't do quads or triple axles will have to be Flawless or close to Flawless to beat those who do. Alina has beaten quad girls and triple Axel Girls before and will again. But who else will next season is the question?

I’m guessing from stuff you’ve said before that you have a professional career. You’re probably very good at what you do, right? I’m also guessing that some of what you do in your job that innately makes sense to you might not make sense to an average person like me without a long technical explanation- for example, why you sometimes do something one way and sometimes do it another way, depending on the circumstances. Right?

That’s the way copyright law is. Two things that might seem “the same” to you - like (1) copying a single body “move” or position; and (2) copying a longer chunk of choreography - are generally not looked at or treated the same in copyright law. They’re like apples and oranges, different things. Your normal logic just doesn’t apply. That’s the easiest way I can put it, unless you want to start reading copyright law. Which I’m pretty sure you don’t.

I don't think that the show was ever shown on TV - we all remember heated recent debates about Zhenya's 4S when no one could provide anything. I read today that the whole story was like that: Alina's performance was placed on youtube. Within several hours Jojo's indignant response followed. Does she follow Alina? I doubt so. It is widely discussed and it is most logical that some "nice people" directed Jojo's attention to those "shameless thieves". And I can believe that same or similar people made the traffic police respond after posting Alina behind the wheel. She and Eteri have so many friends.

I love how the discussion always inevitably ends up with someone using the argument of: “Can she do a triple jump?“ “Does she have an Olympic medal?“ No. But this still doesn‘t mean you can copy almost her entire choreography, even if you use it on ice. To say it like Billie Eilish: DUH.

And again, just because you think it‘s nothing doesn‘t mean it is. Jojo obviously didn‘t feel like that and she‘s right to call Daniil out for it. She‘s made clear since that Alina is not the one to blame, edited her post AND shared another story explicitly stating this. I‘d say everything‘s solved now since clearly Daniil has had to apologize for his mistake and Jojo‘s made clear no one should blame the 17 year old girl. So much for the bullying.

This was a couple of pages back, but the reason 2 silvers didn’t make the JGPF last season is because there are 7 junior events. With 6 senior events, this scenario is unlikely. The only way someone with 2 silvers won’t make it is if, for example, Anna and Liza each win 1x and get 1x bronze, Sasha and Zhenya each win 1x and get 1x bronze, and Alena and Alina each win 1x and get 1x bronze. This would lock out for example Elizabet and Rika with 2 silvers each. This scenario is very unlikely and many stars would have to align for it to happen. (If I am calculating this correctly)

Alina performed her BG program on two weekends. The weekend you are talking about is the last one, which will be aired in July. The 3rd show however where she also showed Bg was shown on TV this week and uploaded on YouTube.
