2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

#TeamTutberidzeForProgress has their work cut out for themselves also.
Going for the big solo skills is one thing, they should not forget the other high scoring elements, combinations and cascades.

Team Tutberidze is probably THE TEAM that knows this best. They aren't forgetting any of those, all of their girls are aiming for Lvl 4 Steps, Spins and so on beside their jumps. And to me it seems that Kamila's problems on the lutz kombo/flips comes exactly from them trying to change her technique.

Prioritizing is difficult given the fixed or not unlimited amount of ice time. The logistics of having to manage this lot of skaters on one single ice alone will give many of us the cold sweat. It is good there are 4 equally qualified and equipped trainers working as a coherent team with the skaters.

We’ll see and it will be very interesting to follow the proceedings and progress.

Kamila should just keep alternating between that endearing smile and her fierce glare of concentration and command.

Are you seriously ? I see 5 ratings of +3 and 6 ratings of +5 ( For the last two spins, these are 4 and 2, respectively). Judges tend to rate her rotation as average as well as excellent. I don’t understand how it can be only +3. I asked.
Because first apparance and juniors. All in all this are really good marks and well deserved. Nothing to complain about for my taste. And as eteri would surely say there is always something to improve

Plenty of time remains for Valiyeva to improve herself in this before her second start. The home event for her, where the pressure on her will be several orders of magnitude above what it was at Courchevel.
Chelyabinsk is sold out, but perhaps the support of her Russian fans will elevate Kamila?

Yeah it's just a bit weird to me
She had a very good showing, people can only wish for such greatness, but it's still a mystery to me. That quad is definitely one of the best out there, but the technique on the other toe-jumps, especially the way she lands the flip and the lutz in preparation for the 3T afterwards is truly weird. It's definitely the first girl I've seen that does them like that. Guess we'll have to wait and see how it goes.

You can say it's a contribution to the "...rhythm in Jump combination" +1 GOE

Judges are OK with Kamila's 3Lz+3T: 4 3 3 4 2 4 4 4 4

And your point is? I didn't say that it's bad, I said it's weird. And if it's not weird to you please post a link of ANYONE else that is swingy like that. If it works for her, that's what matters.
Edit: Anyone from the top ladies though, I don't care about the rest. And you can choose any nation you want.

Haha I suppose so

I‘m looking forward to seeing Stasya skate today. Do we know what she will perform as a FS? Anna Karenina again?

I just realized that the Russian ladies have won the last 26 gold medals in a row on the junior grand grand prix circuit dating back to the 2015 JGP Croatia Cup when Marin Honda won it. Talk about total dominance!
I wonder if Alysa Liu is finally going to break this incredible streak next week at Lake Placid .

didn't Rika win something too? I think I remembered that she won one of the stages and Alina placed 3rd.

News on Nastya! :) I'm glad she wasn't sent to Siberia. ;)

I'm sure hoping these new programs are great for her because I really adore last year shorty and will miss it.

She has time to get in good form for Russian Cup part deux. But I hope she's at test skates in a few weeks as well. I'm also hoping Nastya is more comfortable in St Petersburg and that helps her skate better too because I think she Love's St Petersburg a lot more than Moscow.

I m also hoping Nastya is over the Big P (Puberty) too. Fingers crossed.

Like fluture I'm also looking forward to seeing Stanislava perform for the first time this season. I hope all goes well.

Yup, she won JGP Slovenia in 2016. Kaori Sakamoto won JGP Japan the same year. The winning streak began with Tsurskaya winning 2016 JGP Estonia.

Well I would say It is possible.I really don't know about Sakhanovich but Sotskova according to Cska Website, She won't be at test skate. I believe It is more based on Senior main and Senior reserve rather than GP spot.Nastya is probably the only senior reserve ever who doesn't get any Gp spot.So Let's see
