2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

It looks like Sinitsyna is not going to the USA (Tarakanova the only one in the list https://www.fsrussia.ru/news/4477-sostav-rossijskoj-komandy-na-gran-pri-v-lejk-pleside.html )

I hope they just forgot to add her. Why wouldn‘t she go? I hope she‘s not injured... and if she‘s really not going for whatever reasons, I hope they substitute someone else in. Russia cannot afford to lose a GP spot, neither in juniors nor seniors. They just have too much talent!

Great news about Zhenya! She's perfect for the job!

I think so too. And it‘s nice that they remembered the effort she made before Pyeongchang, going on all these meetings and trying to get the Russian athletes compete under their own flag. They said she played a key role in this and the idea to invite her came already back then.

Sounds like an easy win for Sasha. Now it will be Alina, Serafima and Aliona for Finlandia, I guess?
Alina/Aliona may as well do Ice Star. It's ~10 days before their first GP, and Finlandia is almost right after Japan Open so maybe a better option for Zagitova (but RusFed is being weird with challengers so who knows).

I‘m not familiar with Ice Star, is it an official challenger that counts for SB? I‘m a bit sad that Aliona isn‘t going to Nebelhorn. She could easily win that event and get some reputation for the season early on.

Ice star is an official Challenger :)

It seems like yet again Aliona and Alina will be sent to the same event, I had really hoped Aliona would get her own challenger so she can get a win under her belt and earn some reputation in seniors but it feels like they want to hide her behind Alina for some reason.

Thank you. Shame on me that I‘ve never heard of it then lol. Well, hoping that Aliona and Alina get it.

It wasn't a challenger before, so certainly not everyone has heard about it. Both Belarus and Finland are pretty close geographically, so I hope we will see 2-3 girls there. And I really want Alina and Aliona to be separated. They will meet twice at GP and it would be great if both started their seasons with a victory.

The moto of the year for RusFed must be "stronger together", that's why the girls have been separated in a few groups and are always competing together. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Well, we don‘t know where they‘ll send them yet even though it really does seem as if both are going to be at the same event again. But then, Sasha did get her “own“ Challenger and one that gives her an overwhelming chance at the gold. So, why can‘t they do the same for Aliona? I‘d say it‘s a reputation + timing issue.

I‘m hoping for them to be separated as well, obviously but we have to remember that Team Tutberidze has 5 senior girls this year who all will get Challengers. It makes much more sense to send them somewhere together than get each of them their own event. I would be happier with this, obviously because I want Aliona to get some reputation and win her first event but I‘m not sure they‘re going to let her... Where is Tursynbaeva sent again? Do we know yet?

Tursy is at Lombardia. Together with Anna and Liza. Just like in Skate America and CoC. Maybe Kazakhstan federation will want to move her but I doubt. And apparently RusFed really loves GP previews. Hadn't Evgenia moved in Canada, I'm pretty sure they'd have assigned her with Trusova lol.

She was removed from the Lombardia list shortly after it was published.
I wonder where TeamTutberidze will send her too. Nebelhorn should've been easy to win.

Oh I haven't noticed that. Thank you and apologies for fake news ;). She's at Shanghai Trophy so maybe no more competitions for her. I'm still hoping that Nebelhorn's entries are not final. They managed to add Alina last year somehow.
