Dudes everyone, take a chill pill.
This forum has become a warzone these past couple of days and its unbearable as heck. This is the russian ladies chat, not a fanfest. Please be respectful to everyone; obviously everyone has their favorite skaters and their different opinions. This is the RUSSIAN LADIES CHAT, expect there to be discussion. Not everyone is going to agree with what you say, but there’s also no need to take everything so personally either. If everyone would just stop being so incendiary to one another that would certainly help. If you disagree with an opinion, then do it respectfully. And I think that goes for everything. This is a free space to share about any russian lady skater, but that doesn’t mean its a free space for you to incite one another. This is a SHARED forum. And it will do well for everyone to remember that.
In other words, I think someone above asked why Sofia didn’t get a PCS boost at Worlds. A few commentators said that she seemed to lack the fire that she had in Euros, and I think she was clean but there were a couple of bobbles as in programme didn’t really go as planned (although I don’t recall that well). Personally watching Worlds, I do get that sentiment too. She was definitely more nervous there, and her energy wasn’t as great as during Euros. I think its also good to note that PCS is also often pegged to the general field you’re competing in and how you do VS everyone else. The groupings also make a difference when it comes to PCS, and in general I’ve seen that PCS always tends higher in the last group. The competition at Worlds was really deep, lots of great skaters there and Sofia didn’t stand out as much to the judges vs everyone else, I feel.
I’m excited to see how next season goes for her. Tbh its really hard to be so consistent as she has in her debut aeason, and she pretty much gives Zhenya’s debut season a run for the money with how consistent she’s been. Not sure if we’ll see her add a 3A but I do think she needs to work on upgrading her tech in the months ahead to stay competitive. She definitely has ways to grow more in the years ahead.
