Maybe you should notice who are those people who repeatedly bring this Alysa/Ksenia "unfairness" back again and again. Definitely not those who would see Kamila (or anybody else) as a "Tutberidze's ideal skater"
As for me, I would say yes, it is unfair to put Alysa twice against the skater who was praised the most on GS for test skates, while Kamila was "not so artistic..." "rushed through the music..." etc.![]()
Sleepy? Should I wake you up for today's ladies SP?![]()

Hi there
I think that by discussing so much about who will eventually win ( something that figure skating has proved us several times and with a painful way that literally noone can predict for sure ) , we miss so many art pieces produced by these girls , their bodies and their souls. And indeed , overhyping an athlete , we miss the opportunity to see some aspects of other athletes that are really unique and not just because we need to be politically correct.
I want to bring Ksenia Sinitsina ( video fs here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k16ieBx6eV8 ) because she is really a lady that captured me through all her programm in a way that no other russian junior lady in test skates did for me ( and last year i found her quite generic to be honest ).
About music : the music she skates to is really something authentic , experimental and very well combined the one part with the other from the choreographer. For me , it gives me contemporary dance chills , from the tribals in the first one third , to a more upbeat and mystic/ambient in the 2nd third and eventually the final lyrical piece ( which if you hear at the very end of the programm , there is a sound from a tribal that closes the music piece the same way it starts , it is like a circle in music that gives the sense of a whole).
Style of skating : the way she skates to that music , for me there came up to me one word : minimalistic! Although she has a lot of transitions in and out of her jumps ( not that many from the group of Eteri , though ) , there is always this feeling throughout the programm that every movement has its unique time in her skating , every movement follows the previous softly and sometimes you dont understand that she is about to jump. I LOVED her step sequences !!! The music there is upbeat and with this style of music , her movements could be seen as seperate from each other because of the seperate beats. But she connects them so well , as if she understands the music very well. I think that there is a bit of repetition in the arm movements as style of the choreography , but thats ok .
Sinitsina is very mature IMO . She is 15 afterall and already 1 year in the international scene. I think that last year worlds appearance gave her confidence boost and she ''sells'' herself a lot more than last year. And she communicates something from her inside in this performance. Of course this is just a personal view , but in this age , i havent seen a lot of skaters to be able to communicate with the audience . It is as if she says something with this programm for herself.
Technically , people , she puts her 2 combos (and the one is 3lz-3lo!) in the second half ! She gets the bonus and the GOE and imo is a really good competitor here :agree:
No, thank you very much. Kamila and Maya‘s great skating will wake me up just fine even though I‘m one of those evil, evil people saying Kamila had rushed through her music at test skates.![]()

Pervensto Moskvy, September 2-5: all particapants seem to have been confirmed, including the 2007 born girls: Akat'yeva, Berestovakaya, Petrosyan and Samodelkina. Very strong competition in this age group also.

I’m glad they are able to participate after all. Was very confused for a bit there when fskate was showing a different list. Excited to see the 2 Sofia’s battle it out. I wonder if Samodelkina will go for the 3A?
