2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

There is some inside info from one source that Sasha Trusova has a stable 3A already. Also, they say her SP layout will be 3A, 3Lz+3Т, 3F.
The same source leaked info about new Kamila's dress as not belonging to Ryabenko before - which was confirmed later :rolleye:
Take this info as you will

 If she does then she'll be unstoppable next season

The suspense of the test skates is killing me :drama:

I guess it would make sense if she's doing a 3A to not take the 3lz+3lo risk. But I have to keep myself from getting my hopes up aahhhhh. I would love for a 3A from the 3A next season though. Or at least from Trusova and Kostornaya who I think are more likely to get it. And if Trusova does indeed have a 3A, I wonder if they would put it in the fp, or if they would just put quads there (what a power move to be able to decide which extremely difficult elements you will use for each program).

And out of curiosity, where is this source, on some Russian Forum? Did they happen to mention anything about whether Sasha has a new sp? I would guess if they knew the layout they would also know the music. And if Anna has a new fp.

Who made Kamila's dress?

Too many insiders lately infiltrated sambo 70 lol.

Speaking of layouts, I hope Anna puts a 3F+3Lo in her SP as the combo. She landed it beautifully many times in her LP last season and I think it looks bigger and more effortless than her 3Lz+3Lo or 3Lz+3T. Plus her solo 3Lz from a biellmann always gets really high GOE, so it seems like a win win from my perspective.

It's some Russian fs fans discord chat. No, they said only that - saying that they specifically asked permission to leak this info.

Seriously ppl wth are you talking about. Alysa is going to a second event too. Why would they do this to protect Ksenia now but then not care about the second event?

What is obvious is that there are people that think they are experts at checkers while others are experts at chess. Carry along.

Oh interesting, so that would mean that they want this info out. I wonder why they would intentionally let this info out but wouldn't post a video or something. I guess we'll have to wait and see whether this is true or not.

Its the Junior Grand Prix; Russian girls dominate no matter what. There is no need for "chess". Plus, if this is their chess move, its not very smart. I think it comes down to Occam's Razor here.

They make still do better than all other countries, but the Russian ladies aren’t as dominant as they were the last few seasons -
In 16-17 there was Alina, Polina, Gubanova, Liza N, etc. this was the last season a non-Russian won an event when Alina had a meltdown
Then in 17-18, the highest placement by a non-Russian was 2nd, with Trusova, Tarakanova, Panenkova, Kostornaya and Samodurova all winning at least 1 assignment.
Last season was maximum dominance and consistency by the Russian ladies with all skaters finishing on the podium and 2 silvers not being enough to make the final

This season will not be as dominant compared to the prior 2, unless Alysa bombs majorly and doesn’t win either event. There is potential for only (I know it’s relative, but still) 4 Russians making the final this year.

This is definitely not purposeful from Russia. The US has a history of having visa issues with athletes of different sports. That was probably the reason for the shortened sub list in the first place (only Tarusina listed as a sub). And plus, Alysa may have had iffy competitions this summer, but RusFed knew about her nationals performance and knew what was coming. They didn't just last minute change this out of fear. Plus, by Ksenia withdrawing they've essentially forfeited one of their 15 JGP spots (really sad considering how many girls could have benefitted from that 15th spot), which RusFed wouldn't do. If there were no visa issues and your theory were right, RusFed would have the normal list of subs and would've subbed in Frolova or even Kromykh or something. Anyways, this is sad and I hope Ksenia can still get a second assignment. Maybe she'll end up getting put in in Chelyabinsk if the Dayvdov girls still aren't ready, or put in at the last event, or get subbed in at another one if someone gets third at their first event.

Alysa wasn’t doing consistent quads at nationals and I think her performance from the Aurora games spoke to her condition. Not once was there a single mistake on the quad or 3A, she went straight from warming up the takeoff to nailing them, then nailed the performance.

I think they always saw the #2 spot at USA as a throwaway for someone on the bottom, but the problem is no one is really on the bottom if you’re not including Frolova. ALL of these girls are remarkable. My personal opinion is they put more faith into Khromykh and Usacheva than they should have – neither has shown me that they are any better than the Panova/Davydov girls. They probably would have given the spot to a Davydov girl if they weren’t injured, but they were so it went to Sinitsyna. Then Khromykh took herself out of things in France so maybe they figured there was another spot to play with, might as well try and salvage Ksenia like they should have done since the beginning.

I hate to say this but I don’t think RusFed cares about Frolova or anyone else but their chosen few. Maybe they think 8/6 like it was last year is all they need and don’t want to spend the money on someone so they can come in 3rd or 4th.

It’s all speculation any way. No one knows for sure about any of this. The fact is this does benefit the Panova girls. Anastasia now has a better chance this weekend. Ksenia Sinitsyna has been entered into the JGP Poland now so they’re going to give her something.

If the problem was the visa denied, Russia should return the favor by denying the visa to all Americans for Rostelecom

Punishing athletes is a bad move. The officials will rather demand not hosting further competitions in the US.

Exactly. If this is true and not the fault of Ksenia's team, it's not a fire that's to be extinguished with more fire.

New Tarakanova's video https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=17&v=PVoMtQgyY5o
Sinitsyna and Panova were with Nastya in airport waiting for departure, both were denied to board a plane to USA due to visa problems.

Oh what the hell! So it's not that they didn't get a visa, it's that the visas were issued incorrectly for both? :noshake: Can't watch the video now, so I hope Nastya isn't in Lake Placid by herself, is she? Who's with her?
