2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

People on Instagram said that Sasha jumped 4Lz, 4S, 4T3T, 2A, 4T, 3Lz3Lo and 3Lz1Eu3S (in that order) in her run-through today! I can't verify it, but it isn't unrealistic given that this is Sasha we're talking about.

sasha’s bringing back her 4S!

well well well..the tech panel here is really something!
Looks like no one was in a good shape here, it was quite hard to watch everyone if I'm honest,
but the scores were dropping like crazy! I'm quite shocked they did that, good luck to Shanghai with getting participants for this event next year.

Omg I am LOLing at your last sentence. Very true. The scores all dropped a lot. Also all these competitions really are making ACI look easier on judging, haha even though ACI is traditionally the toughest.

Quad quads for the Quadster.
Go, Sasha, go, storm the sky, you can do this:-)

Drives Quads, Jumps Quads, she is the Quadruple Quadster after all.

Japan Open is a fun competition without real pressure but with some real prize money to be earned.

Well she was ill before the competiton with high fever. Lost one week of training. And lilbeth is recovering from an injury.

Lilbet has now two and Evgenia three weeks to get back in shape, I hope they will make it in time, it would be sad to lose a chance in whole GP series just to bad health.

I think sadly this season is not meant to be for LilBet. Her jumps are shaky and back injury is not something that can be overcome in two weeks.

Tough skates for both Zhenya and Eliza. However, we will see two beautiful galas this weekend from both girls :) I am excited to see what new galas they have. Also, both got some serious cash at this competition for placing 1st (25k) and 2nd (18k), so I guess even with the health struggles they had, they certainly got a little reward for what they put themselves through. Wishing both Zhenya and Lilbet a strong recovery :)

Well, they can easily fix it if they add zero to the amount of prize money.

C'mon, do not put those wishes into other's skates :) This is definitely nothing worse that I wouldn't have seen on different occasions. I heard many prophets saying such things during last season about numerous skaters after some events, though the development was different from predictions. Her injury was most likely serious, but it did not happen now, so it's not like "just two weeks of overcoming", this overcoming started weeks ago. I can't predict that she will truly recover till GP, but I don't like doomsdayers.

Give her time. Who knows what will happen. She skated today and the FS (like everyone else‘s) was a mess but she‘s just back from injury. Even if she doesn‘t do well on the GP, there‘s still 4CC and Worlds. She doesn‘t have to worry about qualifying there and can take it easy. She had rough skates at the GP last season too and then medaled at Worlds. Who knows at this point of the year. Looking at how last season went, I surely don‘t.

I don't know if it was mentioned before but well done by Ksenia at Egna. Unless she has a splatfest tomorrow, she's in JGPF. Vasilieva also has a chance now that Park didn't do so well.

Fantastic skate by Sinitsyna today. Her short was pure perfection. Not a finger was misplaced. I think this is my favourite program this year. Pure magic.

Frolova missed her combo but is still in 2nd place. What's interesting though is that Park of Korea is only 12th, 13 points behind Frolova. So it's looking good for Vasilieva and JGPF.

I agree that Vasilieva seems safe, though I am genuinely bummed for Park as well.

Interestingly, Sinitsyna received a higher SP score than Valieva did at JGP Russia. Not only did Sinitsyna have higher TES (because Valieva had StSq3), she had higher PCS by a little less than a point. It's surprising, especially because Valieva was on home-ice.

True quality always stands out, judges cannot deny Kseniya. The routine is so calmly paced, every detail is perfectly visible, this is 'naked skating' without any cover ups or cheats. And she got properly rewarded.

Different events and different judges. Sinitsyna also competed at JGP Russia and there she lost SP to Valieva with a slight margin. It's normal thing.

You can look at it from different angles, you can fog it up, you can love your first girl all your life, but the truth is a harsh thing.
A fresh wind will not stop if you just wave your hands and languidly look at the sky.
Sinitsina is in the top 12 best skaters in the world right now and can win the championship of any country except Russia. We are waiting for Ksenia next year at competitions for adults. We have someone to move.
Congratulations to Panova. The cry of the snow leopard is terrible... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c54DjZBsO28

With Ksenia taking part at senior russian nationals this year, it’s going to be very interesting! And next year Kamila will join, oh, that will be a one tough competition for next few years.

P.S. Vika meanwhile must be watching this competition like no other she watched before, and rooting for Anna and Ksenia like crazy :)

Ksenia totally deserved her marks today and I’m glad the judges are finally appreciating the quality she brings to the ice.

And remember when comparing with Kamila’s scores - that was her 1st event of the season vs Kamila’s 2nd. She looked more confident and secure throughout the program today, which is normal since she got the first program of the season under her belt in Russia. The real duel will be at the final, where if they skate clean I expect Kamila and Ksenia to be a few points ahead of the rest.
