No points. But it's done to impress the crowd and the judges and it works. People are like wowwwwww. It will be interesting to see if Sasha can do that amazing cantilever when she's done with puberty. My guess is yes.

Oh man yeah that cantilever was awesome! She even gets both hands on the ice, which is extremely hard to do.

She has landed a 4T, if I’m not mistaken.
Sofia A has landed 4T in practice (as well as 4T+3T and some other combo to if I remember correctly), as well as at the end of some Gala final I think, but not yet in comp which I think is what the previous poster refered to.
While I would agree with him that claiming she could compete with the seniors for a world title is a bit premature I have no doubt that she will in time hit both the 3A and 4T in comp and when she does it will probably only be sasha who can outjump her.
But give the girl time and dont celebrate to early she still has 2 seasons to go until she can go to juniors (and 4 for seniors) and a lot of things could happen in the meantime both positive and negative.

Eteri paid Zagitova for help in the “war” with Averbukh.
Young Nadia is making great strides in figure skating, but Navka is well aware that without Tutberidze she will not be able to conquer the championship peaks.
Champion mom boasted on Instagram about another victory in figure skating for her beloved daughter. I must say that this is not her first victory. The girl is a real prodigy, she first started skating at the age of two, and by the time she was five she had achieved serious results. Don’t say that, but my mother’s genes worked 100%.
The coach of young Nadia is Navka herself. Work on ice is not limited to sports, Tat'yana has already involved her daughter in her New Year’s show “Sleeping Beauty”, in which Nadia will play young Malefesenta. As it became known recently, the Olympic champion Alina Zagitova will perform in the same show. And the choice of the performer for the role of Aurora, to put it mildly, is not accidental.
As an experienced athlete, Navka clearly realizes that she will not be able to train her child for a long time. This requires a more experienced trainer. And the best these days is Eteri Tutberidze.
But just to come up and ask Tutberidze to take Nadia into her school will not work. Eteri is known for her tough character and the high demands from her pupils. She takes only really talented children. The surnames of their parents are definitely not an argument. But Navka seems to have found a way to “suck up” to Tutberidze.
For the sake of the “golden” career of her daughter, Tat'yana took Zagitova into her show, it would seem. How this is all connected? In parallel with the "Beauty", the show of Averbukh "The Wizard of Oz" will be held, in which the main character is played by Medvyedeva. Tutberidze has a tooth on both. Yevgeniya betrayed her ex-coach, having fled to Orser in Canada. Averbukh often criticizes Eteri, saying she releases champions too young, what, in his opinion, cripples girls' lives. But the fact that both Medvyedeva and Lipnitskaya left Tutberidze after Averbukh worked with them, too, cannot be overlooked. Perhaps this was not a coincidence.
Alina's popularity is now at its peak. Being able to watch the current Olympic champion live, most likely, will make more fans of figure skating come to the one show. So, Averbukh's show will only be second, as was Zhenya in Pyeongchang.
There is no reason to tell both where their place is? That is why Tutberidze so easily let Zagitova take part in the show. Navka, apparently, calculated everything very well. The doors of the future champion in Eteri's team, it seems, are already open.

:noshake:LOL, what even is this article? That's some petty bs if I've ever heard it. Instead of applauding the fact that Russia has two great shows in the winter, they make "war" out of it again. You know what, if I was in Russia, I'd make sure to watch both of them. Zhenya and Alina are both great champions and as test skates has shown, neither of them lacks in fans in any way. Both shows, I'm sure, will be well received and attended by many people. No need to make any competition out of that.
And of course, that's not to speak of the main message - that Navka only invited Alina into the show because she wants to "suck up" to Eteri? Nevermind that Alina is an Olympic Champion and a great skater, no it must only be because Navka wants her daughter to succeed and needs to make Alina's coach happy to achieve that. Yeah. Surely.

I don't know where and how to put these kind of articles either, for me they just show what's going on in Russian media and why, in my opinion, one shouldn't really be bothered by all this, least of all the athletes.
It still has a demoralising effect of course, the gossip and poisonous rumours never stop, and this makes skaters, trainers, judges and officials in charge anxious of speaking with any press apart from established agencies or through their own channels, i.e. FFKKR and FFKM internet and publications, authoritative websites and social media portals managed by the schools themselves etc.
It also means each and every skater, no matter how young or insignificant, will have to be on constant alert for social media traps. We see less and less live streams even with the adult skaters, because they know they will be compromised.

Pretty much. She likes to skate, it seems she may prefer skating in shows even more than competitive skating and surely it pays nicely.
The girls will grab any opportunity to make some cash, since there is no guarantees gig like this will repeat itself.

I think so. That's a whole lot of shows, and they'll all pretty much debut at the same time? Must be nice to be a figure skating fan in Russia - and expensive.
Yulia and Adelina will skate in Plushenko's show, right? I hope we get some footage, I always love to see Yulia skate. And Adelina, too, of course but Yulia has a soft spot in my heart. Winter time will be amazing, three great shows, Russian Nationals... Lots of content. Can't wait!

Why? There is lots of good and insightful stuff to be found, with honest and pure intentions. There is also lot of insidious trash, but the same goes for lots of postings on this board.
Besides, none of those bloggers or media sources is likely to read here, though some of our regular posters are being followed and cited once in a while.
About generating clicks, this board is public and searchable by any crawler or Google/Yandex b()t. Perhaps this is more a question for the administration to address?
Besides all this, interpreting Russian press and youtube etc doesn't come easy for me, and often takes a lot of time and several attempts before I think I've got it right.
If you use Chrome, you can have any web page automatically translated, but the result is often less than manual interpretation.

She should. She has an image to build, a reputation to protect. Being thankful to your team members, gracious to the opponents you defeated, respectful towards officials, judges and sponsors, all these are excellent traits in a champion on the rise. Aleksandra's parents taught her this, and emphasised it in their interviews: they want to raise Sasha as a good person with a well rounded character.
I hope Khrustalniy keeps their skaters media savvy, keeps their appearances in the media to a minimum so they always look and sound fresh and does everything needed to protect them from unnecessary exposure and possible exploitation by less than reputable media.
Will be interesting to see how Perviy Kanal will promote the Khrustalniy flight in the senior national team, and wether they'll have anything to spare on the other four current members come the Grand Prix stages and Russian Nationals.
I am sort of disappointed they completely ignored the commercial events that took place over the weekend, having to rely on illegal re-streams instead of sending their own crew or arranging something with the host broadcasters ...
