Empress down, Queen up...
Yeah that pop really costed Alina. I wonder what going on with her mentally, all her practices have been clean at here and IdF, but she can't put it together during competition. Seems like a repeat of last season so far; strong first outing then something happens on the GPs.
It's almost a career low for her; that's the second lowest SP score of her entire international career. And the first time she popped and missed the combo in the SP, ever.
I hope she can sort that out for the FS because she has skated these two programs clean in practice all season. It's a mental game for her now.
Zagitova deinitely has more of mental issue by not yet skating a clean SP
the last spot is open with one mistake from Anna, being the weak link
but Zagitova needs to clean her act now because Med is ready to take that last spot
Med and Zagitova ned to seize the opporunity whenever there is given the third spot is not sealed.
you never when Anna misses her quads and shes done.
Im betting atm the Euros Team as Trusova, Kostornia and Med

For advancing to the finals Alina needs just to be 4th with the score 188, but that would be considered too low for her standards.
I know Alina can still make the GPF, Im saying currently based on their form.
Med is ahead of Zagitova and Tuk
I hope someone will not take it as "diminishing of skater's success", but Zhenya is on 7th place already, so she could advance into the finals only as a substitude even if none of the trio Alina, Aliona Rika wouldn't. With Aliona and Rika being obviously in the top form it is very improbable they wouldn't and Alina even with today's SP is still a main contender for a bronze medal (unless she would completely mess her free, that would depend on her mental state). And Liza is 6th, so she is not below Zhenya (though Zhenya has higher total score).
But if I may take Zhenya as an example, at Skate Canada she messed SP and then recovered well for the free, I hope Alina will do the same here.
As someone questioned whether she is too much relaxed now, I think she is most of the time and only before the very competition she starts to realize that now she has to do her best.
At Shanghai she was sick and still competet , which is known and she also said it ,. And skate Canada well itsthe same as with alina it is the mental aspect, the fall came because in the moment she was skating she did go back to her old jumping way which is just not working for her anymore, but it is her muscle memory, she has spent years jumping this way and yes she basically has to rewrite he muscle memorys. With alina it also seems either she was to eased up or it's also mental who knows let's hope she can comeback tomorrow with a clean fs skate"Current form" is pretty delusive term. Alina missed combo, but so far she had no falls in the season (one near at IdF she saved). What would one say about the "current form" of Zhenya after her SP at Skate Canada or after Shanghai Trophy. That is a thing that can change from one program to another as she proved just the another day in the free. Alina skates perfectly clean at trainings so there is no sign of a technical of physical problem that would allow to say her "current state" is low, it's just a matter of menatal preparation.
Im saying about their current form mental and physical
not their GPF standings

Yes it is not their current state physically but i think it's both their mental states, i don't know but alina while I am happy to see her being like a bit eased up was a bit too eased up here, or it is soemthing different but it's definitely not something wiith her body or anything like that, same aszhenya she skates amazing in practiceI'm not denying Zhenya was sick, that in fact support what I say about the "current state".

Stanislava Konstantinova is not going to Zagreb (ISU CS Golden Spin of Zagreb 2019, 52nd edition, oldest international regular figure skating competition in the world) in early December. For now no substitute from Russia. Any changes possible? Currently among entries: Samodurova and Tuktamysheva only.
