2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

[

five quads is too much. Sasha can win any competition with just three quads. I think her parents really need to get hold of her and explain to her that 2021 2022 is the big season in her career. Not 2019-2020. It's amazing that Sasha can handle all the stress she puts on her tiny body with all the quads and now she wants to add trixels too. She is so historic and so special as a figure skater I just hope her team and her parents see the big picture.

I think that Sasha knows that she can win any event. I don’t think that she wants to win every event anymore. She wants to set records because winners come and go, but records are history. Team Tutberidze also keeps a close eye on all of their skaters, so she is probably being monitored a lot. Let the girl have some fun while she is setting the skating world on fire ;)

I think Sasha knows she can lose any event.
She needs to concentrate on "the" event. Tomorrow and a day after.

If Anna does 2 quad lutz and a quad flip and she gets edge call on the both lutzes does this mean the quad flip is a REP jump. Since the quad lutz and the flip is technically the same jump for her.

Is the date of the GPF inconvenient for anyone else? Not only it takes place in the final week of university of the year (which is difficult by itself), but it happens on the same weekend as the ComicCon over here. As a result, I only watch it on the following Monday... Glad I'll be able to watch Juniors, though!

An epic fail at trolling...

well.. the judges clearly were too lazy to think about PCS and just gave everyone the same.

That's the reality of junior PCS scoring unfortunately, they're much closer to each other than in senior competitions and the PCS is heavily affected by TES (doesn't change that I'm mad because Kseniia didn't get higher score though).

How can they give Alysa Liu almost the same pcs as Daria and Kseniia? Their refinement in movements and interpretation is incomparable to just pointing and posing and giving the judges a big cheesy smile.

not all the time, Aliona was able to have a PCS gap against other girls last year...
I'm mostly gutted about Ksenia, Haein and Viktoria, the hell was that... although Kamila could've gotten more too, her basic skating is just so good.

Can I say just how much I looooove Ksenia's short. It's beyond me how she not has PCS 3-4 points higher than the others.

Yet you replied.

It was more of an annoyance more than anything. If only there was more to it rather than just another blatantly false statement. I think that irritated me more than anything.

And speaking of GPF nicely done by the judges. They managed to gave Liu lower PCS, as it should be, whilst giving Russians only a slight advantage. Sinitsyna is only leading her .30 in components. How in the world is that even possible.

Yep. When I saw the PCs for Ksenia and Haein I nearly fell of my chair...

But just last year, after she got some reputation as an artistic and consistent skater. I remember at JWC 18 she got very similar scores to Trusova, but now that they're seniors the gap is getting bigger.

Yeah let's talk about it cause i thought Daria Usacheva absolutely deserved a season best here and she didn't get it i don't quite understand why, the quality of every single element was sound.

I've some question on the calls (or lack there of) and the use of GOE.

Going into the free Alysa is certainly in a very comfortable spot, considering the planned content and the lenient technical panel which will probably call her quads and 3a clean. Valieva can at least fight for the silver.

One mistake from Usacheva and she could finish 5th. (Vasilieva is super consistent, Sinitsyna has a slightly more difficult free skate)

I really thought she would win PCS by at least a 2 point margin. The program is so beautifully crafted. Only thing is, all of the girls, including Ksenia, seemed tight and nervous today. Well maybe except Viktoria. Viktoria reminds me of Osmond-big strong jumps. At Russian test skates she seemed to be suffering from the worst of puberty, but now she looks fit and powerful and ready to contend for a medal.
At the end, Ted talking about how he has a soft spot for Eteri's 3A....and how he has watched them for two years , etc. ****Win****

I'm really curious about Kamila's quads. If she needs to resign on them due to proper recovery from injury than of course it is wise not to push too hard now. Some people may unpack their crystal spheres and predict her being "done" if she won't win the finals because of that, but it is better to heal now and concentrate for the junior worlds.

In the Russian TV stream, the commentators did say that she is recovering from an injury. I guess, it confirms the suspicions.

I think most of you just prefer Russian skating style. While Alyssa has less quality for SS, she IMO has better IN and PE than any others in this field based on today’s skate.CO and TR are about equal for all.

Transitions i'd argue Valieva and Usacheva (Sinitsyna even) have the best, while Haein Lee the worst (her entrance to the 3lo has almost no steps)

Alysa best performer but not quite as good in skating skills i'd agree, and certainly not as fast.

Well, for me Daria should be first, I consider her score for an absolutely clean skate very low (not only PCS, but GoE was very moderate too). But I have to admit that Alysa was much better in all aspects than she was before.

Kamila is of course under her bar, which is understandable. Ksenia was delicate, though I think that the gap between her and Daria should be bigger. Viktoria is better than she was, Davidov prepared her well. Haein did the only bigger mistake of the competition. Though overally the score is very close.
