We did; however, A. Trusova made more mistakes at the GPF than she normally does, and that can negatively impact PCS. (I would argue that it did so even with Hanyu there). And B. One of the patterns I have seen over many years at Russian Nationals is that TES often has a stronger impact upon PCS there than at other events. Samarin's PCS marks at Nationals over the past 2-3 years being a clear example. I do think Kostornaia has a very smooth glide over the ice that will likely bring in a higher skating skills mark than that of her age-level compatriots. I simply do not think I would count on a similar PCS gap to that from the GPF due to A&B above.
It's not really the same though. Aliev and Samarin don't have a big PCS gap internationally (even if I think they should), whereas Trusova and Kostornaya do. So I'm not sure how much looking at the men tells us.
