No changes in the Top 24. But some climbing below. Frolova gets a season's best.

Now only the Championships are left, next event will be European Championships next week.
I think it is very unlikely that anyone will get into the SB24 list at this point.
Maybe Ryabova or Hendrickx, but I think it will be very hard to crack this SB24 now.

Top 24 in the SB list, except juniors (J), are guaranteed at least one spot at the senior GP next year
Last year, to be in the Top 24 in the Seasons Best List you had to score 196.34.

Do you guys think this result will help Sinitsina going senior next season?

She'll go senior 100 % in my opinion. She's 11th on the Season's Best list currently, was 5th at RusNats. She'll get one senior GP at least, probably two.

She shows more promise at the moment than Sofia and Konstantinova, I think she will have a place on the main team.

The Team Event at Youth Olympics is a bit strange. It is a mixed nationalities event decided by draw.

Only 2 of the top 5 ladies will be drawn. In 2016 and 2012 there were no medalists from the ladies drawn (so Tsurskaya, Sotskova, Tuktamysheva and Sotnikova missed out).

Let's hope Sinitsyna and/or Frolova get to compete!

Sinitsyna again acted funny coming off the ice, even Chris Howard noticed ....

There seems to be no love lost between Frolova/Davydov and Sinitsyna/Panova, completely ignoring each other. So when both girls get the favourite draw ....

Quotes given to ROC:

“ I am very upset that I could not show my best skating,” said Frolova. “I really wanted to do it, but I was too excited. The atmosphere at the Games is just wonderful, I am very pleased that I performed here. And to be on the podium at such competitions is great, I'm very glad.

My goal for the rest of the season is to complicate my program, to develop what I have. Quadruples? I think that we need to work on everything. And on the ultra-si elements too. ”

“ I was counting on the first place,” Sinitsyna said. “But I made a grave technical error. I can’t say that I was very worried, but there’s nothing to be done. Youth Olympic Games are a good experience. Silver is good, but I will continue to work to show better results. ”

Kseniia is a great skater, she just needs to deliver at key competitions. If she would have performed at her best standards, she would have won. But so far at GPF, at RusNats, at YOG and last season's Junior Worlds there was always something that hold her back a little. Either she messes one program (like at RusNats) or she just make some more smaller mistakes like at the other evens.

Well Panova smacked her so...It was a "light" smack but I still don't think it was wise to do it on live TV...

(Imagine the outrage if Eteri had done that.)

I thought the smack seemed weird too honestly, Kseniia and Panova don't seem to have the best relationship.

Also, let's please not mention Eteri here, because she has nothing to do with it or otherwise theres gonna be a loooong discussion ;)

Frolova seems quite happy with her new coaching situation.

Sinitsyna less so with her present, judging by the behaviour of coach and pupil both. But what is there to read in non-verbal communication?
No news of Tarakanova at all?

I am still not sure if everything is OK in Snow Leopards.

Because this is, as far as I‘m aware, an English speaking forum. And many of us don‘t understand Russian but are fans of the Russian ladies nonetheless. So, go figure.

(And yes, I realise I should have ignored it like everybody else but I couldn‘t help it this time.)
So how many languages should be there then? 50? 100? I bet there are plenty of Russian ladies fans in the world. And where are Russian subtitles for English language shows?

If she would have performed at her best standards, she would have won.

At this competition, I‘m not so sure about it. You Young had two virtually flawless skates, including 3-3s and a 3A. I do agree that Kseniia has a lot of potential and should absolutely get senior GPs next year. Her jumps are great, as are her spins and steps (those skating skills!) and her programs are very detailed and intricate. (Yet I always seem to miss that little something. I know I might be alone with that but I haven‘t got a whole lot emotions from watching her yet. It‘s all very perfect and beautiful but also a bit... cold and calculated, maybe?)

It‘s also true that she‘s missed a few chances, JGPF and Junior Worlds especially - I feel like at both she could potentially have medaled, at JGPF I actually had her as my underdog favorite for the Gold! But here, at this particular competition, You was better and imo, I‘d have given it to her even if Kseniia had been clean. It would have been close, I agree on that, of course, but I don‘t think we can say for sure that Kseniia’d have won when her BV was lower to begin with.

But I‘ll be looking forward to seeing her at Junior Worlds where hopefully, she will finally medal! I can‘t see any better junior than her other than Valieva, of course. Usacheva is just as inconsistent, Khromykh still struggles with the triples despite landing a quad, Kanysheva is injured. Frolova and Vasilieva are also weaker, imo. For now, I‘d say the most likely candidates for the podium at Junior RusNats are Valieva, Sinitsyna and Usacheva. But a lot can change in even a short amount of time so let‘s wait and see.

I don‘t get your point but I doubt it has anything to do with Russian ladies skating. If you miss Russian subtitles for your favorite show, go and do them! I‘m sure a lot of people will be thankful to you just like many of us here are thankful to the wonderful people who provide translations of interviews and TV excerpts regularly. :)

Imo, Panova teaches great basics (her students all have pretty solid skating skills and jump technique) but she‘s been nothing short of strange with her students recently. The K&C behavior with Sinitsyna and also Frolova has been weird all season long. The only time I can remember a truly joyful moment was with Kanysheva at JGPF and that‘s a long time ago.

It would have been the end of the world if Eyeri had done that. Something is not right in that skater coach relationship. Is KS too emotional for her own good?

By KS, do you mean Kseniia Sinitsyna? Because if so, I‘m confused. I was always impressed by how cool she was, like, literally. She looks like nothing would faze her, even when she was disappointed by her skate today. Of course, she‘s a teenager, so probably she will have her emotional moments as well and it looks like nerves affected her today. She’s just a very talented girl in an absolute pressure cooker that is Russian ladies skating. She has time to learn.

I don‘t know what the problem is with Panova and her students lately but many have been leaving her. I think training conditions aren‘t too good at her rink, there‘s not enough ice time, other coaches at CSKA and Sambo probably get more funding. I guess that‘s one of the reasons. But she’s just seemed weird to me lately and idk why. And then there’s also Frolova leaving mid-season which is also unusual, as far as I know. Maybe it‘s because Panova this season is just a total contrast to how I remember her from the JGPF with Kansyheva last year.

Kseniia has still higher PB than the You's score and I wouldn't call You's performance flawless. E.g. how she got positive GOE for that 2A+2T is a mystery to me and some other landings were quite shaky. Also her PCS as of 67+, sorry judges, Kamila for truly flawless performance at JGPF received only 62 (after all, even Kseniia received 64 today, judges work in mysterious ways when it comes to components ). But those are minor things just illustrating that victory was in Kseniia's potential reach. You still won deservedly, I don't doubt about it at all.

Now the question is the team for junior wolrds. It appears Kamila, Kseniia and Daria are the most probable in this moment, but there can be always a surprise. To be honest, russian junior nats are more interesting than Euros in this moment

Subtitles? Why? This is already in the most common language in figure skating, why anybody would hope for subtitles?

To be honest, I would appreciate english subs too for the clarifying of one or two spots in the plot I didn't follow. I've mentioned it in Alina's GFF but since the talk started already. I didn't understand why when the old queen summoned the daemon and taken the look of Elefianta (or how to transcript that), what went wrong she was taken to hell?

I thought Leonova skated somewhere and socred over 190pts? I guess it wasn't big enough to count. Or did she retire?

It would have been the end of the world if Eyeri had done that. Something is not right in that skater coach relationship. Is KS too emotional for her own good?

Kseniia reminds me a bit of Maria Butyrskaya. There is sort of a diva thing going on but there is also a lot of nerves. Very Butyrskayaesque.

I think that was at Saint Petersburg Cup. And of course that doesn't count internationally. Leonova got injured and couldn't compete at the Russian Cup.
Only Challenger events, GPs, JGPS, Championships and Youth Olympics count for the Seasons Best list.
