I have to say though, I am very critical of sports culture where training and competing with too much injury is encouraged. A very promising Russian artistic gymnast, Ekaterina Sokova retired at 16 due to needing a hip replacement. She told her coaches she had pain but they belittled her, saying she was lazy, a troublemaker ect. Had she been taken seriously, perhaps she could have healed and returned to the sport. Russian AG has nothing resembling the depth FS has on the female side. So not only was this attitude toward a young athlete disgusting, it was just plain stupid to ruin their own athlete. Russian artistic is run by idiots though. Alena was worth sacrificing in women's singles because she is literally replaceable. She may have had injury before going to Eteri, but it can only have been exacerbated by training the 4T. Had she held off, she may still be doing ladies singles right now. There imo is a reason we are not seeing many other countries racing for quads yet, they simply cannot afford to lose the few women they have. Russian depth is great for Russia as a whole, but it clearly means some will be "sacrificed" for that strength. The amount of young age skaters is immense. I watch the competitions on youtube, the 10, 11 year olds. So many with so much potential but most will likely be out of the sport in a few years.

Tarakanova and Vasilieva pulled out of Jr Nats.
its a huge chance and probably their last chance to go to JW. Well i hope they both turn senior next season and get GP... so now JW team probably will be Valieva, Sinitsyna, Usacheva now, with little probability of Kromykh/FrolovaFebruary 24-27 has the Moscow Championships in the Older Age.
KMS and MS rank I suppose, qualifier to Russian Cup in the seniors.
But no info or preliminary start lists yet?
Sinitsyna,
Vasil’yeva
Frolova
Shulskaya
Or different age and level requirements, since the above already competed in the National Championships?

That's a pity. I was looking forward seeing them at JrNats! I guess they won't be at Russian Cup Final either.
People tend to put their own ideas to such situations as this one with poor Aliona Kanysheva. I'm sad for her, it is truly unfortunate, but I don't think I'm smarter and more responsible than all the coaches, doctors and of course parents to judge their decisions based just on simple data we know (and we don't know much). After the battle everybody is a general. Figure skaters, just like another elite athletes, are injured pretty often, it is not uncommon. The question whether let the athlete to train has to be answered numerous times in numerous teams all over the world and in all sports (maybe except the chess, domino and the czech first football league). In the case of the injury the load during training is usually adapted to the optional amount accroding to what is known about the injury, how the progress goes and of course the pain is taken into account. I truly don't think that either Panova or Tutberidze forced Kanysheva into something over the pain or over their knowledge about the injury. We know from the past that if the injury was somehow significant or major, that the training was reduced or suspended competely, so I don't have any reason to think it was different with Kameshek. The fact she withdrew from several competitions before the proper diagnosis was made in fact says she wasn't forced into something, on the other hand it shows they were careful when they knew everything is obviously not right as it should be.
Just remember recent thing with Lilbet, who had to create a twitter account to answer the nonsense some "caring people" told about her injury publicly. The icing on the cake in this case is that those people who were nearly rising a revolt "in her name" didn't even bother to respond or to take her words into consideration. Because they in fact don't care about her at all and I'm not sure this case is different. Aliona herself didn't put any outcry into her insta post towards her former or current coaches, so unless she herself says different, I have no reason to do it instead.
Glad to hear your voice!

Tarakanova and Vasilieva pulled out of Jr Nats.

So did Kisel
Muravyeva, Baranova, and Sultanmagomedova are all added.

I have to say I want Sultanmagomedova to make it , just because of her name. Who is her coach?

Skaters are working capital into which thousands of hours has been invested over the years, often considerable money too, so they are treated with respect and handled with the necessary care.
We know these people ("I am a big fan of....but"). Thank god, they exist and they keep this thread running. The fact is that Eteri and her school are absolutely dominant now. Trusova scores 225 at the Europeans. WTT aside only 7 other skaters in figure skating history had higher scores than that. Yet, people consider it as a disaster: "poor Sasha" may skip the worlds. The risk is obvious - the thread could have turned into an ongoing fan fest. Boring. Once again, thank god, we could entertain ourselves with theories about "evil Eteri" and even argue with those.
Alyona Kanysheva is already training in Avangard (together with Liza Khudaiberdyeva)

Good luck to her in ice dancing!
