Alina Gorbachyova: “The most vivid impression is my attempt to fulfil the quadruple Salchow”
The 12-year-old athlete representing the Tver Region Figure Skating Federation shared her impressions of the Russian championship.
As the portal Tverisport.ru reported, on March 12–15, the Russian Championship in figure skating among young men and women of younger age (10–15 years) was held in Tver. The honour of the Tver region on home ice was defended by this one and only skater - 12-year-old Alina Gorbachyova. A native of Krasnodar, she in recent years lives and trains in Moscow under the leadership of Sof'ya Fedchenko, but represents the Tver Region Figure Skating Federation.
On nominally home ice of the Orbit sports complex, Alina Gorbachyova rose during the competition. In the program of performing elements, she showed the ninth result among 29 participants, in the short she became sixth, in the free she took fourth place. Alina finished fourth in the final protocol by the sum of her points. In other words, one step away from the podium.
- Alina, what was your mood on the last day of the Russian championship before the free program?
" Just cleanly skate out my program, do everything as good as I am able. "
- Very worried?
" Differently. Worried right after the warm-up. But gradually, while I was waiting for my turn, the jitzy almost disappeared. When I went out on the ice for my performance, I was relatively calm and collected. "
- Everything worked out?
" In my free program - it did. But could all this be done much better? "
- Where is it better? You skating run was clean, without falls or any breakdowns ...
" Yes, but in training I do the same elements for higher coefficients - pluses. "
- How do you generally evaluate your performance at the Russian championship in Tver? Last year, if I’m not mistaken, you did not participate in these competitions.
" I participated, but frankly performed badly. Now in general - much better. But there is room to grow. We will try to further improve results. "
- What is your most striking impression of the Championship of Russia?
" During the execution of the elements, I tried to jump the quad Salchow for the first time. Before this, I've never performed a quad at official competitions. I remember this moment most of all. "
- The quad hasn't worked out yet ...”
“ Yes, but I’m only recently started learning it. Naturally, over the summer we will work on this jump. And by the next season, I hope, I will show the quad. "
- Tell me how you started figure skating. Probably from the age of five?
" No, from seven. I started late. Thanks to my friend. When we were six years old, we celebrated her birthday, and she invited us to the rink. Then I stood on skates for the first time, and almost immediately I skated away. I liked it, and the next year I enrolled in the figure skating section. "
- How did you and Sof'ya Fedchenko find each other?
" Sofia Anatolyevna was also born in Krasnodar, where she was engaged in figure skating, until she moved to Moscow. When I started practicing, she already taught and trained in Moscow and Tver. Once time, she came to Krasnodar, and it so happened that I skated with her. Since then, I have never parted with Sof'ya Anatolyevna.
- Now you are training under the guidance of Sof'ya Anatolyevna at the Moscow Triumph Figure Skating Academy.
" Yes, classes are held in Khimki on the Genesis ice arena. "
- How often do you train?
“ Six days a week, from 7.45 to three to four in the afternoon. ”
- But what about school?
" I'm in home school. I do lessons on my own in the remaining free time. "
- This season, probably, can be called the most successful in your career so far: you recently confidently won a ticket to the Final of the X-th Winter Spartakiad of Russian students, now for the first time you have risen to fourth place in the National Championship. What do you think is the reason for this progress?
" It has become psychologically easier for me to go out and perform. The excitement is not so strong, and it does not interfere, but, on the contrary, helps me to better tune in to a clean skating run. "
Commentary by coach Sof'ya Fedchenko:
- I never think about the placements my students can take before competitions. In my opinion, this only disturbs their mood. I always aim the child only to skate cleanly. In the elements, Alina, in principle, performed normally. The first time we tried a quad, it didn’t work. I hope it works out next season. And in the short program there were two small mistakes that were quite expensive - almost four points. Therefore, of course, there could be slightly different results. But you need to work so as to always skate cleanly.
- That is, if the short one were clean, could you get on the podium?
" Sport does not tolerate any subjunctive mood. But yes ... you need to skate cleanly. "
- How do you feel about the organisation of the Championship in Tver? For the first time, the national level figure skating competition is hosted by the Orbita sports complex ...
" I liked it more in Orbit than last year at Yubileiny. It is warmer, lighter and more comfortable. "
