2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

Adelia's a twelve-year-old who had one bad competition out of what, five in the past few months? She'll be fine. Who knows, she probably just had a cold or something. Kids get sick all the time.

She went from 24th in elements to 7th in the free. That's a pretty great comeback if you ask me.

Exactly!!!
When it comes to russian ladies, 1 bad performance and people are instantly looking for big problems and predicting the end of their careers right there :D
As far as I remember, Kamila was predicted a lot of things at the beginning of the season, that she’s too nervous, that she won’t be able to compete, will get kicked out. Anna was the „weak link“ at the beginning of the season. Look how it turned out :)

There were lots of solid performances, great presentations and beautiful costumes shown today. Boys finals were a treat too.

Russia's future in figure skating looks bright. But the regions need more support and means to develop their skaters, and be able sustain them when they reach junior international age.

Exactly!!!
When it comes to russian ladies, 1 bad performance and people are instantly looking for big problems and predicting the end of their careers right there :D

I predicted no immediate end to any skaters' career. Just pointed out that these young athletes live on a precarious balance, which often tips in the right direction thanks to trainers and parents, but sometimes swings back. Every of these young girls has a different genetic disposition, physiological and psychological reactions to varying training loads, natural variation in age of menarche and all other parameters of their existence, both on and off the ice.

Adeliya had a wonderful and most impressive debut in the strongest collective team in the world, delivered under pressure when it mattered, and firmly established herself as one of the skaters to watch. Plus, her skating routines are a joy to behold and make her even more likeable.

Khrustalniy' trainers and Sambo-70 doctors probably know best about the health of their pupils. They never leave their charges unattended.

I am so excited for the juniors next season!! The team is going to have so much depth with Kamila, Daria, Maiia, Sofia S, Adelia, and I am sure many more girls that I am forgetting about!! It will be an exciting season to watch.

Me too! It's going to be a great season. I just wonder who the last 2 spots will go to? I'm guessing it will likely be Anna F and Sofia M, but a lot can happen between now and August. It's too bad Russia isn't hosting again, they could really use that host spot!

Two girls in the younger group tried -3Lo combos

Sofia Shifrina tried 3Lz-3Lo and Taisia Korobitsina tried 3F-3Lo!

Alina Gorbachyova: “The most vivid impression is my attempt to fulfil the quadruple Salchow”

The 12-year-old athlete representing the Tver Region Figure Skating Federation shared her impressions of the Russian championship.

As the portal Tverisport.ru reported, on March 12–15, the Russian Championship in figure skating among young men and women of younger age (10–15 years) was held in Tver. The honour of the Tver region on home ice was defended by this one and only skater - 12-year-old Alina Gorbachyova. A native of Krasnodar, she in recent years lives and trains in Moscow under the leadership of Sof'ya Fedchenko, but represents the Tver Region Figure Skating Federation.

On nominally home ice of the Orbit sports complex, Alina Gorbachyova rose during the competition. In the program of performing elements, she showed the ninth result among 29 participants, in the short she became sixth, in the free she took fourth place. Alina finished fourth in the final protocol by the sum of her points. In other words, one step away from the podium.

- Alina, what was your mood on the last day of the Russian championship before the free program?

" Just cleanly skate out my program, do everything as good as I am able. "

- Very worried?

" Differently. Worried right after the warm-up. But gradually, while I was waiting for my turn, the jitzy almost disappeared. When I went out on the ice for my performance, I was relatively calm and collected. "

- Everything worked out?

" In my free program - it did. But could all this be done much better? "

- Where is it better? You skating run was clean, without falls or any breakdowns ...

" Yes, but in training I do the same elements for higher coefficients - pluses. "

- How do you generally evaluate your performance at the Russian championship in Tver? Last year, if I’m not mistaken, you did not participate in these competitions.

" I participated, but frankly performed badly. Now in general - much better. But there is room to grow. We will try to further improve results. "

- What is your most striking impression of the Championship of Russia?

" During the execution of the elements, I tried to jump the quad Salchow for the first time. Before this, I've never performed a quad at official competitions. I remember this moment most of all. "

- The quad hasn't worked out yet ...”

“ Yes, but I’m only recently started learning it. Naturally, over the summer we will work on this jump. And by the next season, I hope, I will show the quad. "

- Tell me how you started figure skating. Probably from the age of five?

" No, from seven. I started late. Thanks to my friend. When we were six years old, we celebrated her birthday, and she invited us to the rink. Then I stood on skates for the first time, and almost immediately I skated away. I liked it, and the next year I enrolled in the figure skating section. "

- How did you and Sof'ya Fedchenko find each other?

" Sofia Anatolyevna was also born in Krasnodar, where she was engaged in figure skating, until she moved to Moscow. When I started practicing, she already taught and trained in Moscow and Tver. Once time, she came to Krasnodar, and it so happened that I skated with her. Since then, I have never parted with Sof'ya Anatolyevna.

- Now you are training under the guidance of Sof'ya Anatolyevna at the Moscow Triumph Figure Skating Academy.

" Yes, classes are held in Khimki on the Genesis ice arena. "

- How often do you train?

“ Six days a week, from 7.45 to three to four in the afternoon. ”

- But what about school?

" I'm in home school. I do lessons on my own in the remaining free time. "

- This season, probably, can be called the most successful in your career so far: you recently confidently won a ticket to the Final of the X-th Winter Spartakiad of Russian students, now for the first time you have risen to fourth place in the National Championship. What do you think is the reason for this progress?

" It has become psychologically easier for me to go out and perform. The excitement is not so strong, and it does not interfere, but, on the contrary, helps me to better tune in to a clean skating run. "

Commentary by coach Sof'ya Fedchenko:

- I never think about the placements my students can take before competitions. In my opinion, this only disturbs their mood. I always aim the child only to skate cleanly. In the elements, Alina, in principle, performed normally. The first time we tried a quad, it didn’t work. I hope it works out next season. And in the short program there were two small mistakes that were quite expensive - almost four points. Therefore, of course, there could be slightly different results. But you need to work so as to always skate cleanly.

- That is, if the short one were clean, could you get on the podium?

" Sport does not tolerate any subjunctive mood. But yes ... you need to skate cleanly. "

- How do you feel about the organisation of the Championship in Tver? For the first time, the national level figure skating competition is hosted by the Orbita sports complex ...

" I liked it more in Orbit than last year at Yubileiny. It is warmer, lighter and more comfortable. "

With the World Championships cancelled, Sambo-70 has closed its educational institutions for two weeks.

What this means for the Khrustalniy figure skaters still preparing for competitions or shows, I don't know.

Navka, who is the producer of the March 29 FFKKR show in which a large part of the national teams are to be taking part, doesn't know yet wether the 2 shows of less than 5000 attendees will take place.

Nor the Tutberidze Show of Champions, which is still scheduled for two of the original 5 stop IIRC.

Tomorrow, first day of the new working week, by afternoon we'll know if any new measures have been taken. Russia so far has been a markedly clear spot on the world map of corona virus spread.

We'll never get to know the mystery of whether that new Alexandra program was her Worlds SP. Still I presume they will use it for next season. I hope Alena gets 2 new programs next season.

The skaters in the younger group of the Zhuk memorial younger nationals were born in 2009 or later... the group of skaters who were skating in this competition in 2009 include Radionova, Pogorilaya, and Lipnitskaya. Radionova actually won it even though she was younger than Pogorilaya and Lipnitskaya by a year... and won the next year too and was the first one ever to get over 200 points(which includes an elements segment) in the competition.

https://web.archive.org/web/20190514124943/http://www.fskate.ru/results/tour/29.html

And from here on out skaters at this competition will be those who could have potentially taken up skating in light of the success Russian ladies had at at the 2014 Sochi Olympic and afterwards.

Born in November 2011, Elena Kostyleva would have been only 2 years old by a few months during Sochi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cS6VCZ-KDc

She can't skate on the Junior Grand Prix for another 5 1/2 years... and the Senior Grand Prix for another 7 1/2 years.... or 8 or 9 1/2 more years if they raise the senior age which is longer than her current age.

i hope if it was to be her worlds SP, she will keep it and go with something more upbeat or jazzy for her free.

i'm not sure what we will see from Alena and Anna next season. i think Alena would skate wonderfully to something like Experience or something very light and delicate and airy, but Experience has become so overused. i would even love to see her skate to something a bit more emotional so she can build on interpretation skills in that sense.

i hope Anna keeps her SP next year, i really loved it.

I could see both Anna and Sasha keeping their SPs (Sasha’s new one at least) for next season if they want to focus on adding in the 3A. It worked well for Aliona this season. We also don’t know how much ice time will be limited by the virus and if there will be enough time to recover elements, train new elements, and set 2 new programs if they are off the ice for an extended period of time.

I'm impressed by 3-3 by Titova and her overall improvement under Plushenko, but no way she should be only 1 PCS point below Dzepka, same with Marasanova (very entertaining performer) with 2,5 points below.
Dzepka should have won this free by 10 points, she was in class of her own jumping-wise and performance-wise. Completely another level of execution and talent.
I'm not sure if Kostyleva wasn't lowballed a bit for her 8 years of age, she indeed looks on the ice like a tiny child yet, but all her elements were performed very well, better than by some girls above. She deserved better than ninth imo.
Rubtsova is a good skater, diligent performer, but I can't see huge amount of talent there yet.

My hint for Eteri: take Mrs Kostyleva and Mrs Dzepka to expensive dinner with her and coaching staff. Tell Rozanov to bring flowers.

PS. I was right btw. - Kostyleva's mom wrote in VK, that Rozanov's alleged "project's" name is Arina (Parsegova).

Yet her 3Lz is better than most of senior ladies.

Alina Gorbachyova already in Krasnoyarsk, showing us the arena for the X-th Winter Spartakiad: https://www.instagram.com/p/B9x9kYTJVkp/

Here, https://www.instagram.com/p/B9v3fsaJwi2/ , she writes she made the national selection thanks to her 4th place finish in the Russian Superiority past weekend. Well done, little dynamite :-)
She also likes horseback riding: https://www.instagram.com/p/B2wZkDrpC3o/ , and swimming: https://www.instagram.com/p/B6u3kJeJ0gg/ , all around power girl also.

So hopefully this event will take place: https://fsrussia.ru/sorevnovaniya/4...-uchashchikhsya-yunosheskaya-rossii-2020.html
30 boys and 30 girls from all over Russia will compete in single skating, along with 15 dance couples and 6 pairs, 192 competitors in all.

Alina will take to the ice March 17, from 15:00 local time. I believe Dar'ya Usachyova is also amongst the competitors.

There is also an official site of the responsible organisation, but I cannot make any sense of its website: http://fcpsr.ru/sobytiya/2190-20-fevralya-20-marta-2020-goda.html other than it seems figure skating is the concluding event.

Regarding Konstantinova...

https://www.sport-express.ru/figure...tantinovoy-iz-sostava-sbornoy-rossii-1653241/

- She was recently thrown away from the National Team... and Gulyakova included.
- You cannot stay it this way. She wasn't "thrown away". Stanislava didn't succeed with RusNats and there are some specific criteria to be accepted. So few are not accepted. Gulyakova (the subst for Konstantinova) was also a subst for WC-2020 (cancelled) so we introduced her to the National Team.

- But it was logical to throw her away (remove, fix, eliminate, bury - Russian language and slang allows too many means) after RusNats, not today.
- Let not to use those words...

- confirms rusfed was indeed rooting against alina at og'18

Where? I read the entire interview twice and there‘s literally nothing about them rooting against Alina. Maybe you can give the exact entire quote because I couldn‘t find anything.
