Good on her! I hope she is doing this because it is what she wants and she doesn’t feel pressured to come back! I’m excited for her statement about her choice to compete again, it will be nice to hear what her goals and aims are!![]()
Just look at Alina's today's workout. She is not a girl pressured into something.
I didn’t mean it like that. I meant it like I hope she doesn’t feel the pressure from fans, not that somebody is pulling her strings like a puppet. More like the choice weighing on her heart to make fans happy. I hope I explained that well.![]()

Great news, but I wonder if there will be time (if GP events don't get cancelled and rinks in Russia open later) or reason (if season begins with Nationals) to create two new programs.
My dear friends!⠀ There's a time in life when you should take a responsible step. It is crucial for moving forward to new horizons, to new achievements. It's not always an easy decision, but if it's carefully thought through and weighted, then you should move forward strong and brave, and nothing will be able to stop you.⠀ I made the decision to work at the next step of my path with Evgeny Plushchenko. For me he's not only a great athlete, but first of all an outstanding personality and true person, who accepted the challenges, fought and won.⠀ I stay thankful to my teachers, mentors and coaches who have worked with me till this point. I say thank you to Olga Shevtsova and Larisa Melkova, who opened for me the wonderful world of figure skating, to Alexander Volkov and Anna Tsareva, and, of course, to Eteri Tutberidze, who neglecting the time and circumstances literally gave me all that best and worth that she's got. I'm sure, I'll still have a chance to give my glorious coach not one bouquet of her favorite flowers. I'm also grateful to Daniil Gleikhengauz for my characters and directed programs. ⠀ With all of my heart I want to thank Sergey Dudakov for his work with me, for his kindness and decency. I'm sure we will meet again many times, and I'll have a chance to thank him personally.⠀ Another thank you I'd like to address to Sergey Rozanov for his work and faith in me. He doesn't say a lot about himself preferring real work to big talk, but without his laborious and sincere work there wouldn't be my world records and victories. At the key moment he backed me, he's my reliable friend. ⠀ My true thanks also go to the teachers of school Sambo-70, who were tolerant to my training schedule and helped me with studies. ⠀ Dear friends, once more I want to thank you for supporting me and your wishes. I'm happy for a new opportunity to communicate with you directly. I'll be waiting for you all at my performances. ⠀ I promise, I won't let you down!

What an awesome response!!

I don't get this:

I don’t think that there is a way for us fans to fully understand this. From Sasha’s point of view, it sounds like Rozanov worked with her more than we thought. I mean he probably did work with her a lot on her quads, but during interviews and such he was never mentioned. But again, I am just guessing. Honestly, I wouldn’t read too much into it. Us fans don’t know the behind the scenes details of Sambo 70, so there is no reason to debate and argue over this imo.

Eh, 2 thoughts on that -
1) we don't know what happens on the day-to-day workings of the group, just small fragments of social media posts and interviews
2) This is the guy that's leaving with her and going to the same new 'school' as her and they will probably be working with each other since they are familiar with each other - never hurts to stroke an ego.
