That's True.

When there is a contract it means Plushenko HAD ALREAD EXPLAINED to them (through that contract) ALL THE PENALITIES Aliona would be facing if she decided to leave. Nobody forced Aliona/her parents to signed that contract. Kostornia/her parents SIGNED that contract, it means they AGREED to all the terms of that contract. If they have signed it without carefully reading the terms, it's their fault not Plushenko's.

These penalties are surprising to us, but Aliona was very well aware of all the penalties she could face if she joined and then left AP, yet she MADE THAT CHOICE to join and then MADE THAT CHOICE to leave AP. ... End of story
Unfortunately you're right.

It's ridiculous and they were handling things okay from the PA side until all this stuff came out about the money in the last 24 hours. Now aliona is stuck and won't be able to train much before worlds and won't be able to go as an alternate so if someone gets sick or injured they have only Little Liza to put in there.

Sasha will have to pay back hundreds of thousands of dollars to leave that place someday. The Plushies are hurting themselves here. Other Russian skaters are watching.

I'm getting frustrated and someone needs to speak up for Aliona.

Also and this is for anyone reading this how is a public club like sambo-70 supposed to pay a private club when sambo gets paid by the government?

There is no contract with aliona. Plushenko has even said that the contract is with her mother. So let her mother and her legal team handle that and let aliona skate. Since the contract is not with Aliona herself she should be free to skate.

Since Alena is still a minor it’s one of her parents who has to sign but there’s a contract with Plushy and Alena.

when Alina was still a minor, it was an adult who signed for her sleeping beauty show and also received the money and transferred her.

I think she could be unaware of it. But her parents must have been and that is what worries me. For if you know you've had a contract, you'd better go through it before you let your daughter make any move,.
I think they might not even been aware of Aliona even going to Eteri. She is 17 and I doubt she tells her parents everything haha. Also, it was just kinda a fact gathering mission.

I think if Aliona's family can afford to pay up, then it's not over yet. But we don't know the amount they own.
IDK if there would be a report about Sambo-70 not being able to pay if Kostornaia's family could pay what was owed. I guess, if they want to see it through, then I hope they can.

Uhm, maybe because of this:

Summer'20: "We didn't even discuss the financial details, but if she'll need anything, I'll cover that - I can afford it and I'm not stingy."

March'21: "I want my money back".
is that fraud? At the very least it's clearly dishonest.

Plushie said he will cover all expenses for Aliona. Isn't that an actual verbal contract?

Aliona won't be skating competitively for TT or any other club until test skates.

Why make this girl bitter against PA? Is this s*** going to end up in court?

Russia is going to need another alternate worlds. But who? Talalakina? Gubanova? ;)

I think it's got to be Maria.

And alternates are obviously very important in a major competition because of Coronavirus.

I think this problem is unique to Alena, and Sasha won't have this problem even if she wants to leave since she transferred properly during the transfer period. I think the main issue is that Alena jumped ship after the transfer period and so since Sambo-70 was getting all the funding, Plushenko had to pay for all of her stuff himself. Now that she wants to leave, he wants the money back (maybe there are other contracts broken but idk). Sasha's expenses are being paid by the Fed and so this should not apply to her if she decides to leave.

I think the root of all the problems is the system itself and the loopholes when both type of schools (public vs private) co-exist.

When Aliona left Eteri and joined Plush, what did Plush gain? A lot! Aliona was the de facto number 1 of the previous season with multiple titles. Plush company benefited from this move in many ways. To name just one: it's a great advertisement for his school.

Plush got her for free. Neither Eteri nor the Fed got paid. If we really want some fair contract, Plush should've paid lots of money to the Fed/Eteri, and also a big sign-up bonus to Aliona.

A far as I know, there is no hard requirement for signing any contract with the Fed or Eteri. As long as you are doing the move within the transfer window (even that was not followed in Aliona's case), you are free to go.

So it's free to get into Plush school, but not when you go out. In a sense, this is like resources being moved to Plush for free. State-run enterprise lost to private enterprise, and socialism lost to capitalism, when both co-exist. If we talk about business, at least state-run FS schools have a disadvantage.

As for Alion and her mom: I don't think they were aware of or think about any possible legal issues at all. Do skaters and parents in Russia worry about legal issues? I don't think so. However, on the other side, they have a large legal department. This is also unfair, to begin with.

Think about it: if Fed asks all the skaters who have ever received state-fund, directly or indirectly, to not participate in any ice show without permission, what would happen?

No because there's a difference between covering her expenses when she's a member of his school and for her personally.

But apparently she moved out of her villa at Plushenko camp earlier. Were they not aware of it, either? And would they not talk to her at this point? I mean, c'mon... That's strange.

Sambo-70 is simply not in a position to pay. They’re funded by the government and report all their expenses to the government. I can’t imagine seeing „buying out our girl from slavery“ would be a cost they can justify.

Hmmmm I remember plushy said once that Alina and zhenia earn little money when his son earns a lot of money at such a young age so I can guess Alena owes him a lot of money.

Yes, the bolded is one of the things that is unclear to me, and why I am curious about Kostornaia's contract violation. And partly about what would happen if someone left AoP four years later with "everything paid for". Why does she need to pay up for everything (seemingly)? I think soccer players are given sign-up bonuses, aren't they?

Imagine an Olympic champion and well respected athlete coming to you and telling you, that he’s footing the bill and she’s got nothing to worry about. She can train, he covers everything. His blonde wife smiles at you and slides you a contract saying it’s just a formality.
would you suspect he lies straight in your face? Barely.

it’s their own fault they’re in this mess, but it doesn’t make the Rudkovskaya Family any honor.
PA will not recover from this.

He made a verbal contract with aliona and made it public news and now has gone back on that. Who will want to go there now how can he ever did a prospect like alona or Sasha again?

After the Olympic season they will be probably several skaters wanting to move on from where they are at now the plushie has just cause problems and probably won't get any of those skaters and TT may have a couple ladies who will want to leave at that point just because of the great talent with the girls and ladies.

Aliona poor kiddo. She needs to get away from this for a few weeks try to rest more heal more. Then she can come back to training in April or May.

Good luck to Vikas mom getting away from there.

How comev Rybakova and Stasya left PA so easily? No contract.

I mean technically he DID foot the bill. She did have coaches, programs, costumes, medical expenses, etc (above and beyond the money that was allotted for her as a national team member). She had more programs than she had competitions she skated in haha. However, she isn't a member of his school anymore so I see not paying out of pocket for her.

Aliona's fans are going to start a GoFundMe
I'm crying imagining what the description is going to be for that gofundme. How do you even explain this situation. How do you sum up this mess in 200 words. How do you

Free Alena Kostornaia!

Alena is a 17-year-old figure skater trying to leave a coach for another (she's European champion, by the way), but somehow there is a contract and a ludicrous amount of money involved, because her coach's wife is evil (?) or something (I don't know, I read on Twitter that she stole a baby but that's off topic). Anyway they seem to be holding her hostage and we're crowdfunding an unknown amount of money to free her. It might involve enough money to buy a small house, we're not sure.

Every cent helps!
