2020-21 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

How can we watch? Am desperate for some figure skating!
I just googled perviy kanal and the first website that comes up is the one. I think it’s like 1tv.ru or something like that. It’s very easy to find the ladies as the skating is highlighted as you open the site.

Aaand here we go with the FS!
Osokina confirmed everything I've already said about her, I guess I can add her to my faves now.
She's making jumping look soo easy. She didn't look quite as emotionally involved as in the SP but I'm sure she'll grow into it.
Khromykh looked less polished than in the SP, maybe she had less time to practice the FS. That 4S looked far from being landed but gutsy of her to go for it anyway. She also started to rush after the 2nd fall which caused more wobbles. I think everything will come together with more practice, though I'm not really sure what she's supposed to do with this music. I prefer her SP.
Frolova is an elegant skater with lovely lines but I'm not sure if I'll remember anything from this program in a week or so. Maybe her funny arm positions during the jumps. But in general I liked it better than her SP.
The issues I had with Samodelkina's posture and presentation in her SP were somehow less pronounced in her FS. I can't complain about anything really!
Usacheva on the other hand... phew. I know it's a popular piece of music but the whole program feels like I've seen it before. I also don't like that they gave her two character pieces with a lot of miming etc. when she's so good at portraying emotions and doesn't even need such a concept? I enjoyed last season's programs much more. (Let's not even get into them picking the same pieces of music like Trusova... how many coincidences are one too many?) I think Maiia's music would've fit her.
Muravyova seemed rattled by her falls but even before them I felt like she was off the music a lot of the time. With more practice I think I'd like the program better than her SP.
Overall I'm even more sad now that JGP is not happening and these Ladies don't get the chance to perform there.

I thought this at first too, but Sasha's music was only announced a week ago...and junior test skates had already started by then. And if Eteri had wanted to throw shade at Sasha, I don't think she would have picked her least consistent girl with the easiest layout to do it (and she would have had to have Daria learn a whole new free program in less than a week for junior test skates! What's the point?)
Either it was a coincidence, or it was Plushenko who chose to use Daria's music (he could've known from asking Sasha or Alena). But it's Romeo and Juliet - it doesn't get any more warhorsey than that. It wouldn't be strange if it were just a coincidence.
Figured it would be more helpful to know the website so you could find it again in the future for yourself in case you wanted to watch other events instead of always having to rely on links... if that was all you wanted, you should’ve just gone to the test skates thread to find the link

KV is special though and we know the Russian Federation is not known to be fair so she's there. Is she supposed to say no to this opportunity? No.
General opinion about both program:
Osokina: good energy good jumps ...looks like she isn't going to loose them or that she is going to fall.. a straight line in the jump
Khromykh ( my favourite) ..SP ( if it's not age appropriate I don't know and I don't care) she has great lines, long lines, adult lines, great program .. I even didn't care about the jumps.. Fs needs more time .. if she lands a 4 she will be first
Frolova ... I think her programs are safe and she needs to pop up in some way... I love the way she skates but she got lost because she doesn't have the best music, or jumps, or lines or speed ... so will be difficult for people remember her ... she needs more time
Samodelkina's .. she got the jumps and lines ( but after Maya it's difficult not to think that all other lines are little bit childish) ... I would like to see her skating with Kamilla at he same time
Usacheva .. I think she needs more time for the programs... to be honest I thought that the choreo was for other music and at the last minute they change ... because at somepoint the music ask for more....

Oh it feels like it was ages ago that Sasha's choice was announced.
Yeah, a week is probably not quite enough to stage a program, but something's fishy about the whole situation. It might as well have been the other way around.- Joined

My theory is that Daria had a different program planned out. Then when Trusova announced her music, Team Tutberidze took that same piece of daria’s choreography, tweaked it here and there a tiny bit, and slapped it onto the 3 parts of Romeo and Juliet that we saw now. (Notice how so many people commented that daria’s choreography just didn’t fit with what she was skating to?) All to get back at Plushenko and Trusova. Now, mind you, I am neither Team Tutberidze or Team Plushy. I just think this is how it worked out.

Oh no, I'm totally not blaming Kamila, it's a great honour and chance for her, no one would decline such an invitation. It's just RusFed who keep making me shake my head. :noshake:

Honestly, that's kinda what I thought because the choreo is quite weird, it didn't really make much sense imo. It indeed looked like it was cobbled together at short notice and Daria didn't look particularly well prepared. Maybe she practiced it less than her SP, but Plushenko seems to work hard on distincting Sasha from her previous team's skaters, why would he provoke such a direct comparison? We'll never know anyway, I just find the whole thing strange.

People commented the same thing about her short program the day before. I guess, Daria just wasn’t fully prepared in general.
And being serious.... all that fuss just for the sake of 2-3 competitions Daria will take part in this season? Sounds about right.
The situation with Daria’s music is indeed quite strange. I don’t see Plushenko can gain anything by using the music of a junior skater from Eteri’s camp for Sasha. Making people/judges compare Sasha‘s performance with a junior skater from Eteri’s camp is the very last thing he wants to achieve. He was very fast to say that they will make new choreography for Aliona when she changed to his camp, so I find it also weird that he would want to use an idea that started while Sasha was still with Eteri. So personally I find it more probable the other way around. But we will never find out the truth I guess.
