Man this Masha drama is much worse than anything Shabotova ever jokingly said. Such negligence on Masha part. It was such a shame she got that last Grand Prix event she did not deserve it and someone else could have used it to boost their career.

I believe she earned that spot by way of her world ranking.

Can we blame the Russian Federation in any way for not making sure one of their official skaters did not hand in their retirement paperwork?

Based on the information that has been released thus far there's no way this is on anyone but Maria. The article I read stated that she missed 3 drug tests and provided the forged document to excuse those missed tests, the article didn't detail when those drug tests were but in my opinion if she was really planning to retire then the first time they contacted her or showed up to get a sample she should have immediately contacted the Fed to find out what needed to be done to stop getting contacted for drug testing, which would have been putting in her retirement papers. Based on that article, then I'm starting to wonder if she only 'retired' because she knew there was a positive test coming and perhaps thought that if she retired it would stop any investigation.

I know it's been said that she goes to a prestigious university studying dance/choreography - I wonder if this scandal could harm her continued enrollment at university?

Maria at University? I don't think this will affect their she might get some dirty looks though. This was a mistake on her part but it hurts the image of Russian Sports again.

Missing three drug tests if it's true and forging if it's true is just horrendous. Or could have just been she said the hell with this I'm retired I'm done I don't want to take any more drug tests.

I think you missed Zakharova in juniors. Or did she WD? I hope not, Akatieva needs at least some competition.. ;-)
Thank you, I was reworking the list (tables are done different way than in the past version so the format didn't look well) and missed her.

Обучение идет полным ходом. Фанаты из проката выложили фрагмент программы Mayu

Пишут, что платье у Ани очень красивое

Anastasia Tarakanova has apparently switched coaches to Ksenia Ivanova who works at 'Army of Skaters' club. She earlier trained Anastasia at Plushenko.

New girl from regions in Tutberidze group, Daria Sadkova.
No idea how she skates or jumps, but she outclassed the younger group in this 70's disco dance battle:
Has not exactly been a top skater, but perhaps she responded well in training. We'll know a lot about her potential when we actually see her in some competitions this season.

By the way, 8yo Elena Kostyleva landing a 2A+3T combo:

So now she has every triple except 3A as well as the 2A+3T jump combo at 8 years of age. Also attempted the 3Flip+3Loop combo, but that one was UR.

It would mean Nastya Gubanova has officially dropped to second place in the greatest novices of all time list. :)

you are the third who shared this news. :)And I'm saying the 3rd time she went back to the small rink. That was Plushenko's infamous "is not well-sized" old rink. Nastya complained about it.

I am really looking forward to the first competition of the season for the senior Russian ladies today. Though I wonder if it wouldn't have been a smart move on Plushenko's side to let Sasha skate in stage one and two rather than pitting Sasha and Aljona against each other at stage four in Kazan. Tamara Moskvina chose the stages for her two pairs so they avoid meeeting each other. Sasha looked competition ready at test skates and I think she might have had a shot against Anna this weekend.

Isn't that what the federation decides? I think it's like football groups with series leaders and all ...

Honestly, I have no idea. I just thought the skaters and coaches might have a say in it. After all, Zhenya was able to withdraw, but then again, that might have been a different story.
