I don't believe you don't understand. If anybody says he doesn't like that chorography, choreographer because for example he is not creative or he doesn't like that skater because he can't jump or spin, etc. That is OK. He can say he doesn't like that skater because he doesn't like him as a person he is not his cup of tea, etc. That's also OK. Everybody can be criticised. But if anybody says he is devil, evil, terrible, awful about anybody that's not OK. That's all.

I understand Fluture, we don't read the giant posts if we don't like. But if those posts are full of false news, hate, malice opinions especially based on presumptions that can't be accepted here.

Now you seem to miss my point(s). In the comments I've linked Dunffvanstorn wrote parts close to your expressions "devil", "evil" etc. (which also nobody of those who were criticized uses that expressively, it's a shortcut) or defended a person similar way others did. Long story short, he maintains some subjective position from which he often argues exactly the same way he lectures with the others.

Alina Zagitova -> lovely skater, great Olympic Champion, but her Phantom SP in 2018-19 for me was one of the worst Phantom programs i recall and almost entirely due to the choreography/composition: too many cuts for a SP and the sounds added for such a classic when you really shouldn't rework all that much, also the stops mid-program in a short program, one second she is angry and punches, the second after happy "think of me" section, 5 seconds ending standing still... it was a lot. At some point i feel like you also need to respect the source material especially when you go classical.

Respected and million times said opinion, I see you don't loose a chance, I respect the consistency. In figure skating it can even give you medals. On the contrary that one is one of my best programs. I don't know where did you saw 5 seconds still even if she did that was one of the most complex programs that season. One of the best step seq if not the best of that season. jumps on the music, same spins even if you can say that they are artificially placed. Mood and expressions of face and body are change along the music and the perception of the program. Composition bullets are almost all hit. ...

I am with you. Sometimes I don't agree with Fluture, but I respect his/her willingness to share his/her opinions here. I still remember, during the last Euro Championships he/she wrote several long and lovely reports from the field.

Yes. It was so entertaining.

Nowhere in the GS Forum rules does it state that someone can only write short responses.

Other than mods the rest of you have the ability to use the ignore function. Try it. For those of you stressed out about some users "caring too much" or writing too long posts it could be a sanity saver.

For those people who write really long posts but would like everyone to get the gist of their opinions a TL;DR sentence at the end might be a good idea.

Mocking a polite request to stay on topic, follow the rules, and be civil to others is not a good look for you.

I agree we should be polite. I'm not mocking el Henry, of course. It would be a lie if I said I wasn't mocking some posters here, who really do them and will not be polite in return.

Here is the thing though: If someone says something rude and then you engage with them then the whole conversation can go on for pages with the insults growing stronger and the bickering becoming more intense. If you either report the post (and don't respond to it), ignore it or just point a counter argument not directly related to their insults then the thread has a chance of staying on topic and respectful. People post sometimes trying to get a reaction. Don't give them one. See how long it goes on.

It's called feeding the trolls and I highly suggest some of you stop doing it. It's like having a nasty weed in your yard. Throwing manure on it only makes it grow. You have a weed killer to hand: The moderators.

Can someone please just spell out for me what side is being called out currently because I have no idea what’s going on? Is it the Eteri side or the Plushenko/Sasha/Medvedeva/everyone else side? Why is someone insinuating that Fluture makes these long “hate” posts because as far as I know that’s not the case. Their posts are very informative and if there is criticism it is constructive.

I'm afraid it would be like a re-telling the whole story of the daily soap opera after twenty seasons.

Eteris side as per usual.

You know you make a very pertinent point about following the rules and being civil. It should be automatic for everyone here even if there are disagreements of which there are many.

We know who the jab at long posts was meant for and I think that was mean-spirited and unnecessary. That poster has put together some of the most thoughtful posts since I've been a member of this forum (over 6 years) and it doesn't matter that we disagree from time to time on this or that.

Then coming at Fluture makes absolutely no sense. Edited: Meant Fluture not flanker. I can’t even keep the names straight anymore much less the drama :laugh2:

it wasn't even anything to do with the actual skating world, but some having a problem with others writing long posts.

The original post was not about Fluture.

I wish someone would explain to me (NO, I DON'T -- PLEASE DON't "EXPLAIN" ANYTHING) what it is about Russian Lady Figure Skaters that makes people act like idiots when they post to the Internet.

Welcome to the madhouse ;-) A new player with a certain reputation preceding him has appeared on scene after all. And it will only get madder still once the poo start flying, **** hitting the fan and so forth.

I am only here for the human interest point of view, and despite the aversion of many against my interest and position on certain players, I will follow these developments with piqued interest in ethics, morale, sociology, psychology, child development and just plain human decency.
