I don't see any reason for Kamila, Daria, or Maiia to go back to juniors in any way on the national level now that they have competed a full season as seniors.

Besides having them compete at junior nationals will simply expose and put them into contact with A LOT of people again. And when so many people are still getting sick I wouldn't want them to risk it, especially since they have been lucky and able to stay healthy so far. Nobody knows when or where an outbreak can occur. A lot can happen between now and junior nationals with so many people involved so better be safe and not go

There will be no Junior Worlds. Canceled. So what is the point of Russian junior nationals?

I believe that the Russians voiced the reason for having junior nationals and a plethora of other competitions as ‘an athlete must compete’. Grishin had a monologue at some point that went something like, ‘if you tell an athlete, be they a skater or a soccer player, that they should spend blood, sweat and tears for a year to just improve themselves in solitude, I cordially invite you to listen to their responce, now and thereafter.’

The point of Russian Junior Nationals is to place in the top 8/9 so you can qualify for a spot in the Junior Grand Prix circuit next year.
Kamila, Dariya, Maya and Anna Frolova are all going to be seniors next year, right? So what is the point then?
For Samodelkina, Akatieva and Zhilina there is a point.

I would have said Kamila could go just to prove that she can overtake the younger generations but with the scoring she got here I don't think she needs to prove it anymore. But I am super excited for Junior Nats nonetheless - Akatieva vs. Samodelkina vs. Zhilina vs. Berestovskaya!

wow the competition was so stiff today!! I almost can't believe the last four girls went out there and threw it down clean! and with quads at that(except Daria) Almost unbelievable. Russian figure skating is so amazing.

I'm especially happy for Sasha that she can finally skate two clean programs after what feels like 234567 years. I have always wanted this layout for her with 2 4Lz and I'm happy to see that she can pull it off. I definitely think that she can pull off a clean 3 quad program with 2 4lz and one 4t. I'm also happy about her PCS increase! Even happier that she's getting higher PCS than when she was with Eteri even when people had written her off just a few seconds ago as finished. I would have switched Trusova and Valieva's placement but Trusova lost so many valuable level points.

Does anyone understand why Trusova is doing 2 2As instead of literally any other triple? I'm confused why she would have that there decreasing her BV when she's only repeating the 3lz.

Exactly. Maybe, Anna Frolova will go since I don’t think she will be selected for Senior Team. The other three will not.
Poor Anna Frolova. Interesting who is going to be selected for the senior team:
Alyona, Anna, Sasha, Kamila, Dariya, Maya, Elizaveta and...?

Yes. This is the first time she did a 4Lz combination and a two 4Lzes program, right?

By the way, OMG:

Because she's injured. So she did the highest tech content she's capable of right now.

When will Daria get that 3A? Her 2A is looking absolutely gorgeous (that one in the short deserved +5s across the board). Sad as it is, she'll probably need it to be competitive. Maybe she can pull a Kostornaia next season.
Will Daria compete in the RusCup Final? If not, she has no more important competitions until Test Skates next September and she should be working hard on 3A and quads, if she can. Perfect opportunity to learn and perfect them.

Potentially. She also has the possibility of Junior Russian finals which they might send her too although potentially not as there is a novice army that can beat her.

There are no other options without zayaking, unless she replaces one of the 2A with a 3A.
The only quad she can do (due to injury) is the 4Z, so in theory she's already at max BV besides backloading the quads.

I really doubt that she's able to do 2 quad lzes and a lzloop in the second half but can't do a loop/flip instead of a 2A.
I saw smth about her repeating the quad as a reason? but I am unsure
Yeah because she does two of the same quads she can't without zayaking. And she's injured so she can't do any other quads.

EDIT: It's why she's at a technical deficit to Anna, despite having a 2 quads as well (and the highest scoring ones) and one in combo (with a 3T), because Anna does 2 different quads so is able to replace the 2nd 2A with a 3F (which she does in combo with a 3T) giving herself a technical advantage. The difference between a Lz and F in score are essentially negligible, and the rest of the programs are essentially the same, so despite Sasha's first two elements being worth more (4Lz-3T, 4Lz) compared to Anna's (4Lz, 4F), Anna rapidly erases that deficit and actually has an advantage.

My personal opinion is that she shouldn’t compete as a junior anymore, unless she’s going to be debuting new elements. No reason to get beaten by girls younger than her on a domestic level, when she’s not going to be competing with them internationally for about a year and a half. She has a good reputation now, and it’s best not to risk it (unless she wants to try out a 3A or quad in competition, then those junior competitions could be useful to her)
