I am sure Eteri will take her back, because to me Eteri has pure love with FS, and Diana (yes I believe in this). To our fans there might be all sorts of concerns, and my biggest concern is whether it might interrupt other girls training. I was very very upset with Aliona when she abruptly left Eteri (I haven't visited her fan fest since), but I hope Eteri will take her back. Aliona is an emotional girl and sometimes reckless, but she is still a kid, only 16-17. I guess most of us made mistakes during our teen years, and even today. So Sasha P. likes Sasha T. better that Alyona K. Maybe becasue he would like to jump quads, too? Big deal. Of course Sasha with her quads would be more inspiring to a young figure skater who also desperately wants quads - especially when his father values jumps. Also Sasha goes to movies and to outings with Plushy's family so OF COURSE he knows Sasha better.

Let's not criticise the words of a 7 year old child!! That's how kids are. (They're not political they're just honest.)

The criticism was about Alyona not being a favorite of his anymore I guess because she's leaving his dad's academy. The kid said he like both and then not so much Aliona. This is according to what I read. Who do you think put Sasha up to saying that about Aliona?

Anyway I keep wishing them all well.

The transfer to wherever alley on the go well and that she says good bye to PA in a professional way.

Comments on Russian boards are often awful, maybe they affect particularly beautiful girls.
Even Alina Zagitova, who is such a sweetheart and has never done or said anything that can give way to any controversy, gets piles of it.

It's terrible. No country treats their skaters worse than Russia in terms of the fans.

You are correct, totally misquoted that. Shame on me for fanning the drama without getting the facts. I read the caption on the bottom without sound (at work) and thought that it was Plushy who said it--I amended my original post.

The kid didn't say it with any kind of malice or anything...though I can't deny in light of what's going on right now, the comment fits what is likely the mood at Plushy's rink right now.

It will be interesting to see what kind of response we get from both teams once the decision is made official tomorrow.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion but I really don't want Eteri to take Alena back. Nothing against Alena - she's a beautiful skater but wouldn't splitting Eteri's time among this many girls (especially since she just gained Sadkova and Berestovskaia as well) hurt all of them in the end?

Eteri has had most of them before and it certainly hasn't hindered their progress. I think if anything it makes everyone push themselves more.

Yeah I do not understand the hand-wringing about a kid answering who their heroes are.

The real issues are the person who asked (potentially hoping for a controversial answer). Especially since his dad was the one who prompted Sasha AND Aliona and he replied yes Sasha Aliona not so much.

And the people who chose to make that single comment about a 7 year old's heroes political. It's not. He's a child. He's allowed to admire whoever he wants. (At that age, most kids want to be astronauts, firefighters, etc, anyway.)

I think it's cute that he looks up to "big" Sasha - who is still so young and small herself. But powerful - she's mighty. I also like that he looks up to a young woman in general (when so many don't) and aspires to be as good as her.

It's just cute.
