A bit youngish age category, but first fs broadcast of the new season anyway, thanks!

Wait, did I see Pitkeev in the promo? :yay:

Yeah, promo of this club 'Figure Skating Army' (?) and its initiative to have 4 competitions this season, if I understood Grishin correctly. He talks very much during the intermissions ;-)

Army's IG: https://www.instagram.com/armyofskaters/ and YT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhS3KDAe0uc

Another club to add to the growing list of private academies to fill the newly built commercial rinks in Moscow?

No one recognized it? This was the original building of the Plushenko Academy. ;) Plushenko renewed the building. In last year they rented the well-sized one and then the Army could start in it. I'm really curious..... anybody were worried about the ice-rink's size?

Probably the most cute and talented little pupil of the Army is Ilina Askarova..ex angel https://www.instagram.com/p/BuQsOscBBzA/ :luv17:

and their favorite movement https://www.instagram.com/p/BrN-sEVhzlc/

Not sure if someone else posted this, but Liza Tuktamysheva graduated from university! Congratulations!

Congratulations I guess. But how did she pull that off being a full-time figure skater and training full time? Maria has time to go to university now because she retired and Polina has time to go to university full-time now because she retired. The point is they go to university now because they don't figure skate anymore. How can you figure skate full-time and graduate University on time at 22 years old? Liza should let the world know how she graduated university at 22 while being a full time figure skater. I've never heard of such a thing and that makes this even more remarkable for Liza. Learning triple axels in quads while going to University. That's quite a coup. Congrats again to Liza on her degree and continuing to set a fine example for figure skaters especially in Russia that they should not give up they should keep going.

When your coach teaches at the University where you are studying, it is not so difficult :)

Not diminish Liza's feat - a red diploma is a big deal.
But she studied in the Physical Education, which is sort of a "traditional" athlete thing, and much more accommodating than regular universities for sport on top level.
Sotskova, for example, enrolled in a regular university, and those not necessarily make room for competitions and training.

Alina Gorbachyova celebrated her 13-th birthday and is training very seriously in her club Triumph Akademy of Figure Skating: https://www.instagram.com/alinochka_gorbacheva/, and https://www.instagram.com/triumph_skating__academy/

According to her IG Stories, she was gifted a session of swimming with dolphins, which she found awesome :-)

Alina has learned the triple Lutz-Rittberger combination and is no doubt working on ultra-si with the Test Skates coming, August 19.

I understood Kogan correctly, the Junior Test Skates will be held in closed regime. So no live stream from Novogorsk, or no audience admitted like last year and every year before?

attending school full time is not unheard of for elite athletes. American skaters Nathan Chen, Vincent Zhou and Karen Chen are ones that come to the top of my head who currently do both. it requires a lot of time management.

Anyone know what’s going on with Daria’s IG? She’s posted and deleted a tanish greyish square with no caption twice. Hacked maybe?

It's possible ... for example chen but is rare. You can't compare Maria or Polina to Liza or even her diploma to other universities. Liza got a diploma in sports that is the diploma that most of figure skating or athelets in russia gets .. Maria and Polina are the exception in russia ..they enrolled in others universities were they are considered normal students. Maria in something like design and polina I think economics ...

These are driven individuals. Although they do sometimes get help ie tutors, kind classmates who help with notes, extensions, exam and course modification. Full time is considered often 60 percent course load or 80 percent. This does not take away from their accomplishments.
