Won test skates? I didn't even know it was competition. Staying at the schedule is so limited this season she should skate in the Moscow junior Championship.

Yeah, since when is there a winner of test skates?

Yes. I think Aliona thought she could just leave even 2 months after the transfer period and there would be no issues. Not the case.

Last I heard mentioned Kostornaia still hadn't filed the paperwork and that was a couple weeks ago, While Kolyada I think also transferred outside the window I think he's only on the reserve team so possibly it's less of a deal if you aren't on the main team?

Alina will be hosting Ice Age. It seems that this will make Russian Cup even more unlikely

Yep, though the article I read it mentioned that filming was only 4 days a month, so if she truly is committed to be a competitive skater she could theoretically make it work considering as of right now all competitions are going to be in Russia so travel for that will be minimal. I mentioned this last week in the thread dedicated to the topic of if she was returning - the only part of this situation that bothers me is that she's on the main national team and getting funding as such; if she's going to forego the necessary competitions to qualify for Nationals this year, then the Fed should step up for skaters that are committed to competing and reduce Zagitova's funding (take it all back or reduce it down to the amount the reserve team gets) and provide those now freed up funds to skaters that are committed to competing and are on the reserve team or perhaps add another member to the reserve team and give that person some funding they previously didn't get.

Personally I would just say a barely rotated quad can get 0 GOE and a great triple can get +3-4 GOE. That closes the gap quite a bit, while still accounting for the additional difficulty for even a barely rotated quad.

Ideally yes, and also including the PCS differential for how a great Triple looks in a program vs an underwhelming Quad, but in practice that's not how things have been happening. Extra GOE are being thrown at these Quads just for doing them, and the PCS are constantly inflated, and also these jumps are not being called properly all the time, so something like a 3.1 revolution "Quad" is getting full base value and extra points in +GOE. That creates a massive and undeserved point gap, making it nearly impossible for people to legitimately compete against.

Would you also say 2.25 triples get too much credit against doubles?

Usually a 2.25 triple is in comparison to an equivalent double that would have been 1.5 rotations at most. So despite a 3Toe or 3Loop being borderline on rotation for example, there's a greater difference in what is being achieved there (.75 rotations), as compared to the .25 differential in rotation, or less, between many of these "Quad" Lutz/Flip attempts and the textbook versions of a Triple Lutz/Flip.

Yeah, since when is there a winner of test skates?

There was always scoring on the test skates, but only as a feedback for the skaters and coaches and weren't published. So the results were not for the purpose of who "won", but what are the strong and weak sides, what should be improved etc.

Don't worry they will remove her.

Does anyone know whether this is the kids version or the adult version? I've never seen the adult version, what type/ages of people even compete? Former figure skaters who never made it to the elite level? Current senior figure skaters? Anyways, I'm glad Alina is getting opportunities like this.

It's an adult version. The skaters of this season are: Dmitry Solovyov, Roman Kostomarov, Elena Ilinykh, Maksim Marinin, Tatyana Totmyanina, Ekaterina Bobrova, Margarita Drodyazko, Povilas Vanagas, Oksana Domnina, Tatyana Volosozhar, Aleksandr Enbert and Aleksey Tikhonov.
The host of the show as usual will be Yagudin and maybe Alina.

Yagudin was always the host from day 1 of the show.

I know that. I was just foolishly hoping that giving recent developments, they wouldn’t let him anywhere near a TV production again. :) But that was never going to happen anyway. Well, I won‘t say anything else, it‘s off topic and would probably be against the rules. I just couldn‘t help myself when I saw his name there... On any rate, it’s another reason for me to hope Alina refuses the offer and does the Cup Series.

To make a more neutral comment: I wish they hadn‘t canceled the kids version of Ice Age. I never understood a word but it was always fun to watch and the children were really talented as well - I remember discovering Akatieva and her touching bird program there. Also, Alina has always been kind with her younger fans, I think she really would have enjoyed that role. Alas... :(

I doubt the majority of Russian show fans will care given the politicians they elect. It's unfortunate, but that's the case.

On Ice Age yes. But previously there was one season of Stars on Ice where the host was Plyushenko. And that was a total flop! Yagudin is a TV genious in comparison.

Plushenko has amazing charisma, but he has the arrogance that kind of surrounds everything he does. I love that about him, and it was one of his greatest qualities as a skater but I don't think it would work as a TV host where you are displaying other people's abilities.

Still no endorsement for Alena? Recently we've got Alexandra and her vitamin water and Italian bag, Alina and her omega tablets and Evgenia and her LG tv and italian tourism.

I think Aliona did sort of an ad for a sport clothing brand recently.

Then why was kolyada allowed to change after the transfer period had closed as well and it seems he had no problems. mabye rusfed doesnt like it that she changed? And who exactly has to bring the transfer papers? Is it alyona herself or since she is underaged still dies it have to be someone else? I heard that the old trainers have to sign something on it is that right? Well mabye thats the problem? That they may have tried to take as much time as they can? Didnt yulia change in the middle of the season all those yearsago?did she have the same problem?

Probably Russian Federation does not like that she changed. The Federation does not look good in the public eye for bending the rules here and there to accommodate uber talented people.

As for Aliona there should be adults in the situation helping her finalize this controversial transfer with the paperwork or whatever needs to be done.

Maybe Kolyadas coach was okay with his leaving. He was never on Aliona's level who just happens to be the best ladies skater in the world leaving her coach after almost perfect debut season
and Aliona talks great about her coach all the time is being such a good person and a great coach. The whole thing is puzzling and the Federation still has not finalized anything 1 month after she left TT.

We can only wish Alena well in her new surroundings and that something gets finalized soon so she can just focus on what she does best and that is Skate.

Like you pointed out fabii this has happened before. My thing is let's get this done like yesterday so AK
can just focus on skating at test skates and not after answer questions about her transfer.
