Bad timing that the original software (Vbulletin - thanks skatesocs) was no longer getting the neccessary support.

Thankfully they switched to Xenforo (which has software to transfer data ) , as xenforo is so much better than any other forum software out there by far.

Scapegoat, maybe? To give the impression that they're serious about anti-doping? It would make sense to pick a retired skater, the impact on the fed (but not her) will be minimal.

Well looks like I made a mistake too, since they're still releasing updates to version 5. Maybe they used an older version that's not supported anymore, and migrated to something better. Maybe a mod will clear it up.

In the doping test of the Russian figure skater Maria Sotskova, taken in March 2020, the banned drug furosemide was found.Furosemide is used for weight reduction.
According to RT, Sotskova in November 2019 decided to end her career, but did not formally leave the sport and did not notify RUSADA in writing.
In this regard, Sotskova continued to remain on the RUSADA lists as an active athlete, and in March 2020 they tried to take an out-of-competition doping test from her. The athlete, in a conversation with the doping officers, insisted that she had already retired, but in the end she was forced to do a test that tested positive for furosemide.
Later, Sotskova provided a certificate confirming that she was taking the drug for medical reasons, but the clinic did not have a license to issue it.
